oured into a standard pint a clear deepr copper color with a nice tight one finger head atop, alot of lace was left behind as it settled into a frothy mass.Pumpkin pie spice was the main component in the aromas with cinnamon and orange-like cardamom sticking out most,I didnt get any pumpkin to speak of really.Light and sharp in the mouth wich I wasnt a big fan of.Spice and more spice on the palate, cinnamon being most prominent,a little clove as well.A pretty run of the mill pumpkin ale here,I wouldnt search out again.

On tap at Three Nick's in Dearborn, MI. Pours a copper/orange, dark amber color with a moderate head that remained along the rim of the beer for a while. The smell was very nice: pumpkin spice, nutmeg, cinnamon - reminds me of a nice Thanksgiving desert. Tastes of slight yeast, lots of malts, and lovely pumpkin and nutmeg spices that really start to come out as the beer gets warmer. Moderate amount of carbonation and a thin-medium body give this beer a decent mouthfeel, nothing too special.

I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin beers, but this is definitely one of my personal favorites. It's one of the few that I can drink more than one of (and have)!

12 ounce bottle, no freshness info to be gleaned from the label. (too bad, b/c this is a style that you definatly want to drink fresh)

Pours slightly darker almond amber, clear, decent looking light tan head, that goes to a fine film and decent scattered bits and strands of lace.

Faint nose of fall spices, with some honey tossed in.

Pleasant pumpkin ale, with the spices on the mild side, the malt in control with a sweet, honey infused under tone.

This is the first fall in my life that I'm actually developing a liking for and enjoying pumpkin ales.

This one is pretty safe in its approach. Tasty, smooth and quite enjoyable as a cool weather sessioner.

Appearance: 1/2 inch head, orange-brown in color, clear, high carbonation

Smell: pumpkin pie filling, cinnamon, and clove

Taste: pumpkin pie filling, cinnamon, toasted malt, slight bittering earth, and clove

Mouthfeel: sweet with slight bitterness in the background, high carbonation, light bodied

Overall: This is what I think of when I think of average pumpkin beer. It meets all of the basic requirements of a pumpkin beer. I could throw back several and it is pleasant to drink. That said, it really does not stand out in any way. I may pick this one up again or could just choose a more local favorite.

ST: 12oz poured into a pint glass.

A: Light brown with an orange tinge. It has a half-a-finger white head with little retention.

S: Pumpkin, earth, allspice, and nutmeg.

T: Pumpkin at the start and some spice in the finish (rather standard)

M: Medium and dry

O: Nothing exciting here, but nothing bad either. It is exceedingly average. A little pumpkin and a spice bite on the finish. The malt is present and demanding.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a clear, copper color with a quarter of a finger of white head that quickly dissolved into a thin halo of foam that gripped the sides of the glass and formed wispy clouds that almost completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Surprising. It’s more malty than spicy. The predominate aroma is malt and freshly baked bread, not spices like I’m used to in pumpkin beers. The spices are there, such as nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar and clove, but the aroma is much more malty than anything else.

Taste: A lot like the aroma, this pumpkin beer tastes much more malty than pumpkin-ey or spicy. There pumpkin is there, as are spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar and clove, but this beer is much more malt forward than other pumpkin beers that I’ve had.

Mouthfeel: Medium, with some good carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With an ABV of 6.0%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a very enjoyable beer, just a little week as a pumpkin beer. As stated above, its is much more malt forward than other pumpkin beers that I’ve had and because of that I’m a little disappointed in it as a pumpkin beer. As an amber and/or brown ale, it’s quite delicious.

A - pale amber with a thick, bubble layer of white head that has decent retention

S - nutmeg, allspice, pumpkin; the pumpkin is a bit faint with the spices taking the forefront

T - pumpkin, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon; pretty typical pumpkin beer with a decent balance

M - medium bodied, crisp, a bit overcarbonated

This is a pretty decent yet typical pumpkin ale. The spices are a little more forward than the pumpkin. It's easy to drink and goes down nicely. It's worth a try.

Poured into a pint glass.

A - Dark amber in color.

S - Oddly not that much scent. Wished it had a little more here.

T - Enough notes of pumpkin spice and nutmeg & cinnamon. It certainly is consistent with the style, and is quite pleasant.

M - Light bodied, but too much carbonation for my liking.

D - Drinkable but after a second one I was ready to move on.

Not a bad pumpkin ale by any stretch, but there are much better ones to have.

Pours a dark amber borderline brown color, thin white foam head, short lasting no lacing. smell is sugar, pumpkin and spice.

taste like a modestly spiced, light drinking brown ale.
just enough pumpkin to accompany a buttery brown ale..hops and spice make for a crisp brew.

mouthfeel is very nice, very clean and crisp with the right amount of pumpkin not overwhelming.

drinks better than any other specialty beer i've had..
Best thing blue point has put out in my opinion..
recommend drinking with a roast chicken with gravy and buttery green beans

Got this one for 1.50.

Aroma: Nothing spectacular.

Taste: Tastes like an Oktoberfest with some small amounts of the usual pumpkin flavors. Finishes with bread, a slight zest, and dry.

Overall: Nothing special, but nothing terrible either. To me, it tastes more like an Oktoberfest than a pumpkin ale, but it was cheap and easy to drink. Would not seek out again.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a crystal clear copper, with 2 fingers of tight bright-white head (with maybe just the slightest off-white look to it). This retains with a rich ¾ finger, staying robust, and leaving back a foamy cascade that settles into thick swathes of lacing. The aroma has a fresh herbal feel to it, which is layered on top of notes of toasted pumpkin seeds and a moderate amount of spice. The spice in turn works nicely with the airiness of the hops in the nose, while malts sit in the background and compliments the slight sweetness of the pumpkin.

The taste has green vegetal character up front that then gives way to the slick fleshy sweetness of the pumpkin. This sticks to the lightly toasted malt presence here, while the hops add a tight and moderately earthy feeling bitterness to the profile that gives this some grit. This lingers into a relatively dry finish. Like the nose, there seems to be just the right amount of spice here, which hangs on the lips a bit after each sip. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with an initial light crispness giving way to more of a soft creaminess that then fills out the rest of the mouth. This drinks pretty easy overall.

This one just OK. That herbal and vegetal character controlled things just a bit too much at times but I will say that it did lend this a bit of a rustic crispness that I didn’t find unappealing. This one is kind of stuck in the middle of pack for me as far as pumpkin beers go. There’s nothing offensive here but there really isn’t anything that sets it apart either. I wouldn’t turn a glass away though.
