Appearance: 1/2 inch head, orange-brown in color, clear, high carbonation
Smell: pumpkin pie filling, cinnamon, and clove
Taste: pumpkin pie filling, cinnamon, toasted malt, slight bittering earth, and clove
Mouthfeel: sweet with slight bitterness in the background, high carbonation, light bodied
Overall: This is what I think of when I think of average pumpkin beer. It meets all of the basic requirements of a pumpkin beer. I could throw back several and it is pleasant to drink. That said, it really does not stand out in any way. I may pick this one up again or could just choose a more local favorite.

One of my local favorite coffee shops started carying craft beer , so in light of the season decided to review one of blue points seasonal options.
Poured from 12oz bottle to a pint glass
A- pours a pale tangerine and is very very clear. No cloudiness or sediment in the glass at all. Standard pour gave rise to a white large bubbled head that declare fairly quickly and left no lacing, after 1 minute a thin layer of foam remains covering the surface and clinging slightly to the sides of the glass. Nothing special here, seen far worse though.
S- aroma is dominated by pumpkin and allspice, hits of clove and maybe a little biscuit like. Mainly lots of pumpkin! Smells dead on here.
T- taste is an exact copy of the smell, lots of pumpkin and spices. No hops to speak of which is acceptable for this beer, but also no malt to carry the flavor. The overall flavor of the beer is a flash in the pan followed by a hint of chemically aftertaste. The aftertaste subsides after a number of sips and doesn't really detract from the beer. The pumpkin does seem more like artificial flavoring than real pumpkin but again I have had far worse pumpkin beers.
M- mothfeel is thin and fizzy but its got more viscosity to it than your standard macro light lager. Could be better.
O-overall not a bad beer, very session able pumpkin beer if you wanted to make a fall evening of it. Not up to the par of punkin or pumking or my personal favorite weyerbacher imperial pumpkin but it has its place in anyone's harvest season lineup.
