12 oz. bottle.

Clear dark copper body. Small, gauzy, light beige head. Not much retention. Modest malt aroma with notes of caramel and maybe some faint pie filling. Not much spice action here, or pumpkin for that matter.

Astringent graininess up front. Notes of ginger and mineral water bitterness come in. Toasted grains and butterscotch fill in. Tangy, tannic edge to it all. Light spices (nutmeg, clove) in the finish. More pumpkin and pie like in the end, but it sure doesn't start out that way. Moderate body with a slightly overcarbonated feel.

12 oz.

Pours a clear orange brown color, meringue white head at an inch dissipates slowly.

Smells of pumpkin, cinnamon, brown sugar and caramel.

Tastes of mild pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and gingerbread. Mild barley malts underneath.

Medium to full body with soft carbonation on the back of the tongue.

A pretty decent and tasty pumpkin ale. I've had better but I've also had a lot worse. This one has a good flavor and a nice body, thicker than the strength suggests. I would have this again.

A - Pours a clear light orange with a foamy two finger head. Dissipates to a nice cap and sticky lacing.

S - Scent of slightly sour pumpkin and allspice. A little sweet malts as well.

T - Sweet pumpkin followed by a slight sourness with some spice. Bit of bread on the swallow as well. Spice continues into the aftertaste, but it is very mild.

M - Medium body, a little heavy on the carbonation. Crisp though, not syrupy.

O - Overall not a bad pumpkin ale, but not one of the best. Has a decent aroma and flavor profile, it is just too subtle. Still, it doesn't have the nasty sourness that some of the worse ones have, it has the sourness you would expect from a ripe pumpkin. If you are looking for something lighter in this style, try it.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass

A- pours a crystal clear orange with a two finger white head. Looks gorgeous, off to a great start here

S- slight bit of cinnamon and pumpkin, and nothing else. Very weak aroma

T- incredibly bland. Slight hints of pumpkin, nutmeg, and cinnamon, and by slight, I mean *slight*

M- the body of this one is actually kind of thick...not nearly as thin as I expected from past experience with pumpkin beers

O- swing and a miss. I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin beers to begin with, but this one is so unbelievably boring

$1.79 for a 12oz bottle. Brewed with pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg per the website.
OG=1.061, 26 IBU, 6.0% ABV

Pours out to a sparkling clear bright orange, forming a thick creamy off-white head with superior retention and really nice sticky lacing. Carbonation is a touch sprightly, ~3.0 carbs. The aroma is nice...the cinnamon and nutmeg are abundant and there isn't any hop interference. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean with a pleasing acidity and a medium body. The taste is quite nice as well...the spices shine through nicely without being overbearing, a toasty malt character is pleasing, and the carbonation adds to it's drinkability. The bitterness is fairly modest, however, it's just a tad strong and a touch herbal for a pumpkin ale. IMO, it would be a bit more balanced in the 12-15IBU range. I'm not a big fan of Blue points yeast character, but the spices do a nice job of covering up the diacetyl.

A decent pumpkin beer in my pumpkin foray, but I still haven't had one that really stands out as outstanding. I've heard good things about Southern Tier Pumking, so I'm gonna go pick up a bottle of that ASAP. Worth a try.

A: The beer is clear dark amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high beige head that quickly died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: There are sweet aromas of pumpkin spices in the nose—nutmeg seems to stand out in particular.
T: Like the smell, the taste is sweet and is filled with flavors of nutmeg and other pumpkin spices. There are also some hints of early hops. Only some hints of pumpkins are detectable.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This si a beer that is easy to drink and isn't overly sweet, but seems like it could use a little more pumpkins in the overall taste.

A: Pours a crystal clear orange/copper/brown in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a half finger tall beige head that reduces to a small thin patch with an extremely thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon and nutmeg) along with some lighter notes of toasted malts. Very light amounts of earthy hops. There is some sweetness to the overall smell for this beer.

T: Very similar to the smell, the taste of this beer features toasted malts and some toasted/roasted pumpkin with a light amount of sweetness. After that, there are mild flavors of pumpkin pie spices - primarily cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish features some earthy hops contributing some light to moderate bitterness that fades quickly.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Easy to drink with a decent balance between some sweetness upfront and bitterness in the finish. Not over the top with with pumpkin pie spices and a decent pumpkin flavor.

clear burnt amber hue with a good sized sticky off white head. smells of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice, a little light.

light on body and flavor with brisk effervescence. Honestly tastes like water with cinnamon and nutmeg in it with an Oliver twist sized portion of pumpkin. Not good. The only respectable thing about this beer is that you can't detect the 6% abv despite how thin the flavors are.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/10/2012. Pours fairly crystal clear orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Good foamy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, caramel, toast, and graham cracker. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of biscuit, caramel, graham cracker, toast; with light amounts of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, and other spices. Lingering notes of caramel, graham cracker, biscuit, toast, pumpkin, and spices on the finish for a short bit. Solid flavor balance with a decent amount of spices. Fairly dry on the finish with no cloying flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very solid pumpkin ale. Some well balanced flavors, but it definitely could use more pumpkin and spices in my opinion. They took the safe route on this one to make sure it wasn’t overly cloying on the spices. As a result, this is very easy to drink and quite enjoyable.
