A: Clear copper penny color with a bit of orange. Massive two plus finger head that left heavy lacing.

S: Aroma of pumpkin spices, a dry powdery cinnamon stands out and seems to be most prominent. Maybe a bit of clove as well.

T: The taste starts off with a solid metallic taste, mostly cinnamon in flavor, brown malt flavors, but wow, cinnamon really takes over. In conclusion, too much cinnamon / apple pie spice. I get the sense that the base beer is probably not so bad, but is completely overwhelmed with spices.

M: Medium in body with a mild carbonation on the tongue.

O: Overall, this could do better. It has a decently built body, which is a hurdle I have found in the pumpkin ales I enjoy to get over. After that, slightly metallic and overspiced, but one of the middle of the pack pumpkin ales that I have had this year.

The first thing that hit my mouth was a tin or metallic taste that lingered and I could not shake. I love a good pumpkin but this beer had nothing that reminds me of a pumpkin. No taste, smell or gravity to boot up in my mouth. I'm hoping I got a bad pour but as it stands I can't touch this beer again. I don't like drinking metal.

A below-average pumpkin ale, with very little taste. Nothing notable here, especially with a 6% alcohol content (surprising for a malt).

The appearance is mildly desirable, but the "pumpkiny" smell is nearly nonexistent.

Overall, not a beer I would recommend to others.

12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a clear, orange-copper body with a couple inches worth of foaming, near white head. Little splotches of lacing on the way down.

Smell: Moderate aroma of toasted pumpkin meats (and cautiously toasted malts) overlayed with spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Taste: Very little pumpkin flavor carrying over to the final flavor (not that it was simply oozing out in the nose). Lightly toasty malts, some powdered sugar embellishments. Scant estery hints. Cinnamon powder and a little early nutmeg. Sweetish, spicy through to the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: An acceptable, middle-of-the-road pumpkin ale that's not particularly memorable.

Burnt honey gold pour with dense 2-finger cream head. Good retention and fine strands of lace.

Raw pumpkin and cinnamon jump off the top of the glass. Light spice, but mainly pumpkin.

Taste is a bit lighter than expected, but good. Light pie spice, raw pumpkin underneath that, and a finish with cinnamon. Finish leaves a little to be desired, a little too sour.

Feel is refreshingly light.

Overall, worth a shot if this style appeals.
