This place is located in downtown Manhattan. It's a really nicely kept bar with a copper clad kettle in the near distance. The bar is shaped like an "L" and it hosts many tables for people looking for a classy night out. I got the feeling that this was purely a drinking hole for the city beer lover. It was upscale, but not so much as to scare off the average man such as myself.

The atmosphere was good. There was a wide range of people drinking here. I felt at home here. It's the kind of place you can go and get hammered, but it's also upscale if you get husseled into taking out a date for a good meal.

The selection was good. They had a number of choices, most notibly the Smiling Pumpkin ale which was the best pumpkin beer I've ever had. The service was outstanding. The bar staff was witty and efficient, which are the best two attributes a bartender can have in my mind. I wanted to buy a pint glass for my collection, but they didn't have any. The bartender told me to steal one when noone was looking. How cool is that? This dude got a fat tip.

I liked this pub. I don't go to the city much, but the next time I do I'll be sure to stop here again.

We Visit the Mid town location at 625 8th Ave. at 41st St. near the port authority bus station.
stop by around the end of the lunch rush. Service was ok only saw the one bartender waiting on customers with the manger help out once in a while. Beer was good. food was average.

You can't walk by them but they are certainly not a destination either. Luckily Manhattan has some great beer bars because the brewery situation is bleak. Though I did not eat it seemed like more of a restaurant that brews on the side. Nice clean spot that had a lot of activity so it seemed popular. Tried to nurse a Saturday morning hangover but they did not open till 1pm. There are a few around the city so chances are you will end up walking by one of them. Do stop but don't go far out of your way.

I liked this place nice decor just big enough so the noise level won't kill you. I started out with Cornhusker Lager and ended with a Seasonal Apricot ale both tasted great compared to some Micro breweries where they go over board with taste. We ordered fried dill pickles which we both liked and both got burgers cooked to order nice and hot and juicy. The only draw back was waitress who seemed to have her mind else where but overall we enjoyed our lunch and would return again. Great beer people the beer alone is worth the trip...
