My "local" Iron Hill. Always a pleasant experience with great food and brews. The first time visitor should partake in the flight where you can sample the standard brews, as well as the seasonal Belgian and one seasonal on their rotation. I chose the Abbey Dubbel (Belgian Seasonal) on my past visit and it is highly recommended. This time, I took home the growler of Russian Imperial Stout to enjoy at my leisure. A very spacious dining area compared to others, but reservations are STRONGLY recommended!

Iron Hill Wilmington is corporate but oh-so-nice. I really enjoy it there. The "riverfront" ain't much (small river, silly views) but the patio is beautiful in the summer.

The wife and I sat at the bar, which I recommend. The tables seem to be too busy on peak hours and weekends, and overrun with children. Prompt, nice service at the bar, she sure knew her beers and food menus.

Seven seasonal beers on tap, including a winter warmer and a German-style weiss, plus the usual Iron Hill lineup. We tried the Scrooge DIPA (weak) and the Big Red DIPA (fantastic). Too bad they didn't have the Imperial Stout...

The food menu is gigantic, like a diner's menu but better quality and more imaginative food. I loved their small plates: eared scallop with corn relish, fried goat cheese on arugula salad. Their pizza, made with malted-barley dough, is delicious as well.

There is a bottle menu, as in other Iron Hill locations, with cool vintage bottles, but way too pricey.

While far from outstanding, this place delivers. No complaints.

neat little spot near the river front. big wooden bar with the tanks visible as you walk in. huge facility/restaurant. good selection of brews, all the standard stuff a light, a red, a porter, an ipa, etc etc etc. they also has a rotating belgian selection (tripel), and 4 or 5 excellent seasonals, including a maple coffee winter warmer in a cask with a cinnamon rim glass (an experiance to say the least). all beers were above average and the appetizer i has was excellent (lamb meatballs). good service. patrons tended to be city suit types, on the stuffy side, but not dicks to me in any way, just not a blues bar where everyone is baked. good spot to bring a date maybe. excellent bottled selections for purchase and reasonable prices all around. will be here again

Cask Conditioned: Browntown Brown (6.4%) - Creamy smooth, light carbonation and big chocolate malt flavors - outstanding.

On Tap: Iron Hill Light Lager (4.0%, 10 IBU), Vienna Red Lager (4.4%, 22 IBU), Rasberry Wheat (4%, 20 IBU), Ironbound Ale (APA, 4.7%, 30 IBU ), Pig Iron Porter (5.0% 40 IBU), Schwarzbier (5.4%), Browntown Brown and Abbey Dubbel (7%)

A chalkboard in the downstairs bar area identifies what's in fermentation (an Oktoberfest and an Imperial American Red), when brewed, when due and upcoming specials (Pumkin Ale).

There's a medium sized bar area to your left when you first walk in with booth seating, a number of tall bar tables (for 2 or 4) and a U-shaped bar that might fit about 18.

Decent music plays softly, but is easily drowned out by conversation around the bar. Clientele is an urban mix of mostly professionals.
