Notes/Commercial Description:
Crisp and clean, our flagship lager is a golden coloured beer brewed in the tradition of its continental cousins. Using Canadian pale barley, our brewers craft this beer by infusing the malt wort with only the finest aromatic noble hops. After a controlled fermentation with our Danish yeast strain, the beer is chilled and aged until being cold filtered prior to kegging or bottling. The finished product is a very clean and well-balanced hoppy beer without the astringent bitterness of some other European styled lagers. This Blonde is 100% all natural. If you don't believe us, just look under the cap.

Some leftover cans I found in my fridge after a recent shindig/hootenanny. I have yet to really be impressed with anything Amsterdam's released, so I'll happily take a free chance to try their lager.

Poured into a tall lager glass. Actually, I have to say this brew has a lovely appearance for the style. Clear golden, lots of visible carbonation (hopefully it won't burn off completely), and a thick billowy head that won't reced. Sheets and patches of lacing.

Nose is predictably mild: tart apple, pale malt, hops, a bit of lemon. Not bad.

Starts with a tart apple bite, followed by pale malts and a light hoppy finish that is quite dry and metallic. The metallic tang gets progressively worse as the brew warms up - only five minutes in and I'm already struggling to finish it. There's just something about this brew that I really don't like. By the end of the pint each sip is becoming a chore.

Mouthfeel is creamy, getting flat because of the carbonation burning everything off.

I suppose this is better than a lot of macro lagers out there, but really, is it worth it? So many Ontario sessionables I'd rather have than this...

473 ml poured in a chilled pint glass...

Appearance - the beer pours very crisp with a lot of carbonation bubbles present on the glass. The head is a white cloudy approx 1 inch that disappears quickly. The beer has a clear golden appearance. Almost no lacing is occurring.

Smell -smell of hops and a little sweetness with a hint of citrus in the background.

Taste - the beer has a subtle bitterness to it that comes early. You can taste the hint of sweetness, but i assume the bitter comes from the citrus within the beer.

Mouthfeel - Lot of carbonation in the mouthfeel. The beer maintains its light appearance into the taste as it has a very light mouthfeel.

Drinkability - Not a beer i would seek out again or recommend to anyone looking for a pale lager. It does not offer much along the lines of unique taste.

Soapy, thin mouth feel a la typical Amsterdam. Another mediocre lager. Complements of Bow & Arrow anniversary night. Yellow colour. Some hops and bitterness. Better than water on a hot day on the porch. Spot fruity mid-sip from sample of yeast in there. Better in bottle, complements of Pootz.

Not a bad beer. Not worth much more then the minimum in Ontario though....

A- Clear, yellow beer goodness

S- Ok not much else to say

T- Pretty good. Nothing to write home about but pretty good. Refreshing

M- Dry. Mild after taste

O- Ok beer. Nothing to write home about. Not worth going out of the way and if there are other choices please do!

Thx for reading

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color lager with a big pure white foamy head with medium retention and no lacing. Aroma if quite refreshing with a light sweet malt profile. Taste is also quite one-dimensional with some medium sweet malt and very subtle floral notes. This beer was as easily drinkable as it is easily forgettable.

My girlfriend brought this one back up north for me and I appreciate it. All in all its a decent beer, more taste than a macro but it's not really aimed at the craft beer drinker. It would be a good stepping stone, if only there weren't so many out there already. This blond lager pours with a fluffy white head, lots of carbonation, decent retention and traces of lacing rim the pint glass. Has a clear straw color.

Smells and tastes similar to a macro but with a bit more hops and sweetness from the malt. Notes of light grassy hops on the nose and palate along with sweet malt and an unpleasant metallic taste. I can't recommend this one but its nothing awful.

4th Review on BA
473mL can to bolleke globlet

Purchased at a downtown Toronto LCBO for $2.65

App- The appearance is a pale gold color, a little darker than I expected from a blonde. The head dissipated quickly with minimal lacing.

Smell- A nice and crisp malt character, slight floral notes hide behind larger more prominent wheat counterparts.

Taste-A nicely balanced lager, the crispness of citrus sits well between a light malt character and a more recessed bitterness of hops. The taste left lingering in the mouth has a very slight astringency but is nonetheless present. The Amsterdam Natural Blonde Lager seemed to fair slightly better fresh out of the fridge in that regard--being generally more of a general wheat flavor.

Mouth-In the mouth it seems rather filling for so light a beer. There is a hint of oily-ness which is pleasant rather than off-putting but it does seem to retract from the crispness of the beer.

Drink-definitely better when sipped at a colder temperature. It probably wouldn't hurt being "too cold" for a lager and letting it get better as it warms. Rather that it's too cold and warms to the right place than start drinking it at the optimal temperature and have it warm to an undesirable place. Although, if you aren't taking the considerable time to construct a review while drinking it--the warming effect might not even be an issue. For the price-point and despite a very subtle astringent character; it's worth checking out.

Poured a pale gold colour, with a small white head, ok lacing, not much head retention. Faint malt aroma. Taste was grainy, a little hops, some lemon taste. Finish is dry. Good amount of carbonation, quite drinkable on a hot summer day with some wings. But otherwise just a mediocre lager, a step above national macros, but nothing special.

A: Golden clear filtered with moderate carbonation, huge 4 fingers of chunky sea foam like head with slight yellow tinge.

S: Malt, offal, boiled cabbage, slight fragrant laundry detergent.

T: Depth of light fruitiness, then a slight lime water, followed by a long bitterness much like the taste you get when you bite into a lime seed.

M: Medium bready body, medium low carbonation.

O: Taste exceeds the nose by far. Labeled a Euro Pale Lager, this stands out in uniqueness and flavor. Enjoying it, the new can style is really hip as well.

12oz Bottle

Appearance – Clear yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is a high amount of carbonation showing and there is an average amount of lacing. The head lasted for only a short while.

Smell - Grains, bread, floral

Taste & Mouth - The beer has a high amount of carbonation. I can taste breads/grains mixed with some floral notes and a slight hint of citrus. It also had a bit of a breadiness to it. It ends with a slightly bitter grainy aftertaste.

Overall – There is just something not right about this beer.. I can't put my finger on it, but it there is an odd musty taste to it. Not something I'll have again.
