Notes/Commercial Description:
Hop Heads rejoice! This naturally carbonated, unfiltered I.P.A is loaded with citrus and pine aromas from a continuous hopping technique that our brewers use to create this one of a kind beer. Amarillo hops and a complex malt bill are used to create a balanced body with a large hop character giving way to a unique taste experience.

355ml bottle from the LCBO. no bb dates. Served in a Breughel snifter.

A- Clear amber color with a thick head of soapy foam. Lot of big bubbles surfacing. Sticky lace. ( A bottle i had a few months ago was more Hazy )

S- Citrusy hops, a touch of grass, and some malt sweetness in the nose.

T- hop resins up front with flavors of citrus and pine present with an earthy almost nutty character mid palate with toasty malt flavors of bread and caramel sweetness noticed throughout the beer, and a touch of stone fruit as well. The finish is dry with hop bitterness lingering.

M- Medium bodied beer with nice carbonation. Actually left my lips a little sticky.

D- The beers weight and carbonation make it go down quite smooth yet the ABV is a little higher than usual for an IPA...Which may not be a bad thing ; )

Overall i enjoy this beer and respect the pricetag also ( $12.95 x 6 ). The beer claims to have "Over the top hops" which is not the case, in fact i find quite the opposite sometimes. The beer has a nice malty back-bone that i really enjoy yet this beer seem to lack consistency. Its either Hoppy or Malty. And in some instance can taste quite different from time to time.

Strong IPA, very hoppy (alittle too hoppy honestly), but that's advertised on the box "over the top hop's!".

A - Golden, look's great!

T - very hoppy, if your not into that stay clear. Citrus, and hop's dominate.

M - smooth, for having a high alcohol content you wouldn't know it.

O - Too hoppy for me, but the great appearance and smooth drinkability slightly redeem it, however for the price this is a one time buy.

A: cloudy appearance due to being unfiltered. Warm golden amber colour reminiscent of a good single malt whiskey. cream coloured head, that quickly dissipates leaving slight lacing on glass

S. When first poured and head is present, this beer gives off a yeasty, toasty aroma. Smell disappears almost completely when head dissolves.

T. Fruity and a bit tart on the front end. Lingering tastes of grapefruit and cantaloupe melon

M. Light carbonation, makes for an easy quaffing beer (despite the high alcohol content). Five minutes after finishing this beer, the taste continues on.

O. Overall a smooth drinkable strong beer with lots of up front hops and lasting citrus. Great summertime beer. Would definitely buy again.

Excellent Canadian IPA!

Appearance- Cloudy, dark amber. Strong malty appearance with a bit of sediment remaining. True unfiltered look.

Smell- Hints of pine and citrus. A strong hop aroma

Taste- Strong and hoppy. The way an IPA should taste. Slight hints of citrus and pine at first but they quickly reveal a full body malt taste.

Mouthfeel- The natural carbonation is excellent which makes the beer surprisingly smooth and drinkable. A strong hop taste remains.

Overall- Great beer that is now widely available thanks to Amsterdam expanding it's brewing capabilities. Anyone looking for a strong tasting beer with a natural hoppy taste will not be disappointed.

Appearance - Red amber to copper in color, pours with a lot of head that settles into 2 to 3 fingers. Good lacing, nice looking beer.

Smell - Lots to offer here. Big piney scent but also some citrus, melon, bread dough and maybe some black pepper.

Taste - Some fruity sweetness in the mouth then the piney hop bitterness cuts through on the swallow. Has a good, long bitter finish. Quite smooth for the alcohol content, wouldn't have guessed it as being as high as it is. Could be dangerous.

Mouthfeel - Slightly dissointed here. I found the body a little light and would have liked a bit more carbonation.

Overall a good IPA. Would definitely drink this one again.

Sampled a bottle snagged off of a "pick six" craft beer wall. I dig the graphics on said bottle. The beer itself doesn't look so bad either ... A toasty honey orange color with ample off-white foam that breaks quite quickly to leave some decent lacing on my pint glass. Some yeast detritus swirls about, as the "unfiltered" tag promises. Odor is very bright and fruity, tons of lemon/lime/orange/yellow grapefruit rind that shows up nicely on the palate. Can taste the Amarillo hops, fresh citrus along with a medicinal character like aspirin or vitamin C chewables. Malts are also nice, a smooth toasted caramel vibe along with a few unexpected coffee notes. Is there aromatic malt in this sucker? Hops and malts in balance. Not particularly piney, I do get a woody bitterness that is only a little resinous, think coniferous dead fall or something. Some peppery spice completes the package. Standard IPA body, a wee bit chewy perhaps. A decent brew. I appreciated the fresh citrus and darker malt flavors, a combo that can clash but this one does not overdo the latter, leaving everything in sync and tasty. Look elsewhere if you like massive pine resin and tropical fruit.
