On cask at C'est What for the 1812 War commemorative event.

Dark brown body, deep red translucency at the edges. Bubbles for head, no real lacing or retention. Really sweet malt character in the nose, syrup, brown sugar, molasses. Hints to some chocolate, with a shade of roast quality. Taste is just as sweet, syrupy, caramelized dark fruits and berries, some chocolate covered cherries perhaps. Dense and viscous feel, and approaches being almost cloyingly sweet when this gets up to room temp. Interesting, and great body for a cask ale - quite a bit going on in this beer.

Clear winner of Project X mini-caskfest. Black with a show of bubbles for a head. Sweet roasted coffee aromas. Taste is mild coffee more than molasses. Yummy stuff. It kicked first. Unique in above average mouthfeel for a cask. This batch not too sweet. Another homer for Ian.
