I purchased this at Craft beer cellar in Waterbury, enjoyed chilled in a mug.

The color is pale golden with good clarity and visibly carbonated with thick white head comprised of fine beading and lace is scattered. The smell is malty with nice wheat quality which is lightly sweet smelling but more yeast is noted with light tangy odor and a supporting toasted grain quality. The feel is great with moderately light body with creamy texure at first with spritzy sem-high carbonation and mild salted accent w/ dry smooth finish.

The flavor is pretty full of wheat with creamy quality combined with yeast and light salt which supports and doesn't overwhelm with a gentle toastiness in the malt and gentle lemon tanginess which goes with the salt creating an urge to return for repeated sips with that salty berliner type tang you expect. Overall definitely tasty and lovely with delicious wheat and very highly quaffable-one of the best of the style I have had. I appreciate the subtlety -there is not too much going on, very traditional quality yet excellent for the season -a perfect warm weather beer which is quenching and refreshing.

Americans seem confused. They seem to think that the traditional salt beer of northern Germany are sour, as brewers attach themselves to full-blown berlinerweiss instead. But with is soft tangy acidity and saline fullness, they should sit back and let Dollnitzer brewers show them how it's done.

Its cloudy translucence and canary hues layer into the glass with both a bready and champagne-like layering. As a cottony-white head constructs, the nose is greeted with bread, cookie dough and candied lemon drop. With its playful tartness and sprite acidity looming, the initial taste is creamy, fully wheated and medium-sweet.

Upon the middle, the bready texture and candied sweetness pull apart, paving the way for the tartness of green apple, under-ripened berry, white grape, lemon and lime to tether through the quickly dissolving malt character. The fullness that only salt can provide follow closely behind and offer its delicate brine with no residually mineral character to interfere.

Piquant acidity wisps away quickly while ensuring a high rate of refreshment and drinkability while its soft saltiness lingers to highlight echoes of bread dough in aftertaste. Otherwise a light bodied ale, the taste of brine that clings on tightly to the mouth gives the ale an impression of fullness that has a bit more staying power on the palate than expected.

I have had only a few examples of the style so I figured today would be a good day to revisit it while getting the grill out for the first time this year.Pours into a cylinder a hazed orange tinged light golden with a nice looking white head atop.Toasted grain and slightly metallic in the nose along with some lemon zest.A healthy dose of lemon/lactic brings some sourness to the palate, with me not being a fan of anything very sour it kinda turned me off a little, toasted grain and the hint of salt/brine in the finish.I know the gose is becoming a fashionable style right now but it's not my thing, this is a good example though and I tried to rate accordingly.

Bottle from Proof. Pours a clear straw with bubbly white head that faded pretty quickly to nothing. No wisps, collar, anything. Aroma is grassy and dry yeast tartness. Taste is tart throughout, slightl pear fruitiness, and slightly metallic. Light body and low carbonation. Very drinkable though.

Hazy yellow grassy color with a thin white head that recedes quickly. Aroma of buttery corn and yeast. Flavor is initially yeasty, but not overpowering. Flavor evolves to corny malt and finishes crisp with zesty lemon and some spice, sorta peppery. Some spicy lemon lingers. Relatively low drinkability due to the yeast/lemon combo that was a bit much for my pallete.

From a bottle.

Aroma: tart and neutral (appeal)

Flavor: about average (for style) levels of sour and salt. Hints of lemon and lemongrass.

O: Not extreme in any way yet distinct.

Surprisingly dark in color, copper, but very clear and well-carbonated. Foamy head and sticky lace. 5

Tart and salty but with biscuity caramel. Smells great. 4.25

Tart and tastes like a marzen maybe, with toasty, biscuity malt and a strong floral and lightly lemony flavor. Very nice medley of flavors. 4

Mellow tartness with a toasty and biscuity malt feel and a definitively lager-like finish. Floral and salty notes linger. 4

This one has some great character to it and manages to stand out without any added ingredients or anything else. Great.
