Appearance- deep red color with a slight lace of bubbles around the perimeter of the glass. Was served in a regular pint glass, so I was immediately skeptical of this beers real roots.
Chill haze is evident. Perhaps this beer needs more time, or just a warmer environment.
Virtually no aroma to be found, seems okay for the style. Slightly malty, and sweet smell to it.
Light in taste, but with a decent malt flavor, doesn't taste sour at ale, as what you might expect with a Belgian style red. you can taste hints of caramelized sugar, and a hint of yeast. Somewhat earthy.
Mouthfeel- Thin, and somewhat watery for this style. finished dry with a hint of sourness to it.
Drinkability- It's okay. Frankly it really didn'y lend it's tastet to the style, however I'd give it a try again.
The bartender indicated it was a Belgian Red, and offered up that it was at 7% ABV, and that it was brewed with Belgian sugar. He was unable to tell me any other details about the beer.
