A: Black. Loud fizzy head that dissipates down to a thin film in a few minutes. Not much enduring lacing.

S: Yeasty, mild roasty that mostly blends with and overshadows some bitter chocolate

T: Mild. Mild roasty. A little bitter that's more like a chocolate bitter than hop bitter. A tickle of tartness on the tip of the tongue.

M: Somewhat viscous, yet a little carbonate-y on the tongue. Pleasantly astringent on the gums.

O: This is a fairly mild, round beer, with a hint of carbonation zing on the tongue and a slightly astringent finish. If it were anyone else's, I'd call it pretty well done. Quality and no complaints. Compared to other Nogne O brews, however, it does not deliver the same sense of art. They set the bar pretty high. So I guess I'll have to give this a lowly "very good".

Pours a black color. 5/4 inch head of an off-tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, roasted malt, alcohol, slight chocolate, slight hops, and a hint of wood. Much more like a strong American Porter than a Baltic Porter. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight oatmeal, slight roasted malt, slight hop, alcohol, chocolate, and a hint of sourness. Overall, good appearance, aroma, blend, and body, but the feel is lacking.

Nogne O 'Porter' @ 7.0% , a Baltic Porter served from a couple of 500 ml bottles purchased for $10 each

A-pour is a dark cola brown from the bottle to a near black in the glass with a big creamy tan head leaving a streaky lace along the pint

S-sweet , fruity , strong

T-semi sweet start , somewhat smooth & creamy middle

MF-ok/carbonation , seems to be big full bodied

Ov-ok/good beer , not my favourite style , glad I got to try it

500ml bottle served in a tulip glass.

A: Pours a dark brown color forming a solid and creamy tan head. Great retention and lots of spotty lingering lacings formed and left in the glass

S: Delicious roasted malts, coffee and chocolate notes. A bit sweet and a bit metallic too. Strong notes of floral hops. Great balance. A bit booze

T : Follows the nose. Slightly sweet upfront. Excellent notes of roasted malts. Notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Great bitter-sweet balance. Nice bitter sting in the end. Bitterness is mainly made of roasted malts but also mixed with grassy hops. A bit of metallic sensation. Brown bread yeasts profile

M: Creamy full bodied beer. Medium carbonation. Bittersweet roasted aftertaste

O: Great drinkability. Excellent beer. Extremely well-done. Scandinavian classic

Served from a bottle into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Black. There is no other way to describe it. There isn't a hint of anything beyond black. Foamy solid head - one finger height. Remained through the first three sips before receding into the black hole that is this porter. Significant lacing.

Aroma: Rich with malt, chocolate, and a hint of coffee and licorice. Smells exactly like it should. Delicious.

Taste: The coffee takes the wheel when you begin sipping. Very well balanced but thick with coffee, chocolate, and light notes of caramel. Not heavy though, which is the wonderful thing about the Porter style - a darker, lighter beer in comparison to your stouts.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, chocolate coffee coating, with light to medium carbonation thus providing for an easy drinker.

Overall: I'm a Porter fan and I really like this variance on the style. The 7% ABV isn't noticeable, and the light carbonation combined with the sweet flavors make it highly drinkable. Best porter I've had in Singapore!

500 ml bottle. Brewed 4/7/12 so about 14 months on it. Pours a huge head of creamy tan foam, amazing retention. Colour is an expected dark brown but the lacing retention is superb.

S- figs, raisin, silky chocolate, red current, a roasty presence, with a dry floral element. Some vanilla and toasty notes. Very full and inticing

T- a thick dark malt body with aged fruity hints to it. More chocolate develops, with some dark cocoa and sweetness, earthy and dry with some dark cherry notes, dry woody and floral spices come round. A malt forward porter with strong dark malt and chocolate flavours and a nice array if fruity complimenting notes. Finishes nice and full with a lively toasty malt.

M- light initially then some more of the coating chocolate malt with a gentle carbonation but very relaxed beer that drinks very well. No alcohol heat.

Quite an enjoyable porter. Rich and dry with a very rounded balanced profile that is so silky. Quite a bit of depth but also very tasty upfront with pleasant dchocolate notes. It is big but it is not heavy, as in a big imp stout. Worth trying, quite a tasty achievement!
