A - Lots of loud foamy head that sticks around long enough that you have to wait a bit before you can drink it. Light apricot color.

S - A mix of apply fruit and, I swear, a bit of leather like you get in some scotches. Interesting.

T - Fresh, bright, and clean. The booze is just prominent enough to be noticed but not enough to be distracting. It's well integrated as a flavor component. The warmer it gets, the more of an apple cider flavor I get. It's interesting and crisp while colder, sweeter and maltier when warmer. Neat.

M - Somehow this is sort of dry while at the same time ending a bit sticky and nectary... and then slightly dry again. Fun.

O - This is really pleasant, and I'm not big on this style. Very well balanced, tight, classy. Another winner from Nogne O. My reigning champ favorite brewery. I won't say it's remarkably robust or complex, but it's a surprisingly easy drinker, and well done.

Nogne Tiger Tripel.
A pleasant bright gold tripel, nice lacing. Smell has lots of limes and fresh yeasty esters. Taste is full of more citrus, lemons, honey, with a nice balance and pleasing balance. Some spiciness, light pepper, with a dry yeasty finish. Mouthfeel is delicious with a hint of sweetness, lots of pale malt, getting a hint of the peatiness they used but especially on the back of the throat but otherwise a traditional and well balanced Tripel. Pleasant amounts of carbonation and lots of nice yeasty esters adding to the feel, lemon rind, biscuit malt, slight restrained sugary and honey sweetness with nice floral hops.

Picked this up at my favorite beer store in Belgium, Dranken Geers. Murky amber-orange pour with a bright white two finger head with nice retention and great lacing. Pretty typical Belgian Triple nose with lots of spicy, grassy, citrus notes along with hints of Belgian yeast, lemon, and what appears to be a touch of peat??? The taste is a bit less typical with more sweet caramel malt than I had expected. Hints of tangerine, lemon, grass, yeast, biscuit, bubblegum, apple, and more of that curious peaty character. The mouthfeel is surprisingly creamy and slightly chewy with nice carbonation and a smooth finish. Overall, this was a pretty solid beer right up to where the peat reared its ugly head. Just can't relate to a peaty triple...

500ml bottle poured into tulip 5/19/13 from notes

A cloudy golden orange with lots of tiny particles but just a few bubbles feeding a thin film of soapy foam even after a hard pour, lots of random lace on the top inch of my glass

S I wasn't expecting peat smoked malt and that took me by surprise, citric hops and pineapple with some caramel and brewers candy, some Belgian yeast but I can't shake the strong band-aid notes that are hard to ignore after you find them

T much like the nose but the band-aids a little burnt, this reminds me of Sunturnbrew but not quite as bad, the triple notes are still there but are being overwhelmed

M full bodied but could a few more bubbles, well concealed booze but I don't like the adhesive aftertaste

O the peat smoke is killing what could've been a great triple, no booze at all and some great aspects but they can't shine through all the burnt band-aid

no issues downing the bottle but I wouldn't buy it again, the smoked malt just doesn't work for me. I'd love to try this without the smoke because I could see it being great much like almost every beer I've had from these guys.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a snifter.

A: hay gold in color and slightly cloudy, there was no head whatsoever upon pour.

S: fruity, yeasts, malts and phenols..overall the aroma is very mild.

T: malty, sweet and alcohol noticeable.

M: medium carbonation and body.

O: in a word, disappointing. It just misses the mark. The taste is just off for a triple. I would like to think it's because I got a bad bottle, but the bb date is in 2014. Starting with the lack of a prominent frothy head, I felt something wasn't right about this beer. Unfortunately the taste also lacked on this beer.
