I've submitted a correction for this place but I'm reviewing just in case someone plans a trip before the change happens.
DO NOT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO VISIT IL SPAZIO. They no longer brew their own beer. They did have 8 beers on their menu, including Schlafly, Boulevard, O'Fallon and Stella, but only 3 Boulevard beers (Wheat, Lunar & Irish Red) were available when my wife and I dropped in. We tried all three and they tasted somewhat stale (sitting too long in the keg).
The atmosphere was decent and the food was very good. The service was decent, but had complete lack of knowledge in the beer deparment.
In short, stop here for food, but don't stop here for beer.

First of all, this is not a brewpub... Il Spazio no longer brews and there beer selection was not at all impressive. They typically have a couple beers from Boulevard or Schlafly on tap, but not much more. The service was so-so. And the food is really hit or miss. I personally have been very disappointed with the three different entrees that I have ordered on three separate occasions. However, other people at my table have made better selections than I and they enjoyed their meals. I would say that if you are in Kirksville, maaaybe stop by because there aren't very many restaurants in Kirksville that I would recommend... however, I would say definitely do not go out of your way to eat at Il Spazio. You can find Schlafly and Boulevard at a number of other places that probably has much better food.

While traveling to Illinois, I veered off my course specifically to visit Il Spazio. It was two hours out of my way, but I was glad that I took the detour. Il Spazio is located in downtown Kirksville, and you have to go on the correct one-way streets in order to get there. Plenty of parking was available on the street in front of the restaurant. I ordered the sampler of beers and my wife and I each ordered some food. We got out of there for $18, so it was a pretty good price for what we got. The beers did not disappoint me. There is a good selection of dark and light beers and the sampler was nicely presented on a placemat that explained each beer. The restaurant seemed fairly new, and the brewing equipment is in plain sight for all patrons to enjoy, even from outside along the sidewalk. If ever in the area, I would definitely recommend taking a detour, as I did, to visit Il Spazio.

This is a great place to go when in the small town of Kirksville, especially since there isn't much else.
There is plenty of seating, and you never feel crowded. It is very relaxing laid back place to be and enjoy a good dinner, or just a good beer.
My fiance goes to school in Kirksville, and we have been going here since it opened, and it has turned into just about the only place we go. Though their selection of beers is kind of small, it just makes it easier to try all the good ones they have. They also have some of the best food in town IMO, and a pretty good selection of wine if your looking for a change.
Their quality and service is some of the best I have ever experienced and I have never had a bad time while there, and would recommend it to anyone.
