Pretty amber colored clear beer with a very nice tight foamy head about two fingers high.

Light zesty pine and fruit hop with musky coffee. The coffee comes through a little cardboard-like unfortunately. Dusty and earthy over creamy biscuit malts with tangy citrus and a touch of floral.

Taste is less in the stale coffee territory. More like a zesty citrus pine ipa with subtle coffee worked in. Im still not sure the coffee has been integrated in the best of ways though. Interestingly fruity as well.

The aroma is well balanced as I get the tones of bitter resins and light pine and grapefruit. The coffee smells top notch and has a nice strong brewed tone.

The coffee flavor stands out at the front. Fresh brewed coffee taste with a little bean and roast. It Think I might taste chocolate at mid palate. It ends with strong bitterness, which may be why it's called "Wake Up Bitter." The bitterness is that of resiny piney hops and doesn't taste like coffee bitterness.

I like this interestingly different brew and think it's a must to try.

Clear amber body under a tall, thick head of off-white foam. Slightly stale wet coffee grounds, orange, lime, cocoa, and a green, earthy pine element comprise the aroma. The taste is more hop forward with a decent coffee finish. Bitter green, piney hops, grassy and floral, with some zesty citrus. The coffee is better here, more like a light roast in its fruitiness, which is appropriate, but it doesn’t grab me. Creamy, medium bodied. This was fine, not nearly as good as Stone’s Dayman though. I wish the coffee had more of a deep, pure, oily quality like fresh beans. Not bad, not great.

A: Pours a clear orangish copper in color with light to moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and some faint golden yellow highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a medium to large half finger thick cap towards the center of the glass surrounded by a thin film covering the majority of the remainder of the surface and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/lime, herbal, and pine/resin hops with a lighter aroma of caramel malts + slightly stale coffee grounds from a somewhat recently made pot of coffee.

T: Upfront there is a light flavor of caramel malts with a moderate amount of citrus/lime, herbal, and pine hops flavors. The finish of this beer is all coffee - reminds me of cold pressed coffee made from some medium roast but very well roasted beans (very interesting that there is none of the traditional IPA hop flavors/bitterness in the finish). There is a light to moderate amount of roasted coffee bitterness in the finish which slowly fades away.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: Probably one of the most interesting coffee beers that I have tried in that the coffee is extremely present but almost completely in the finish...almost like there are two different beverages in a single sip. Really strong coffee flavors with well hidden alcohol.
