Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a pale golden-copper coloring with a filmy, light, thin, white head. Aromas of subtle citrus highlights, tropical fruit notes, and a rich, malty backbone. Some toasty and bready notes in the nose, as well. Flavors are bitter forward, very bitter, with a blast of tart grapefruit, some pepper spicing, and a toasty backbone. The bitter and tart is super heavy on the front-end, but does ease up towards the end, with a lingering grapefruit tartness throughout and grassy notes coming forward. The body is smooth and slightly light, with a bitter, resinous aftertaste of cedar, cut grass, and earthy notes. The finish is slightly effervesced, with a bitter and citrus tart linger.

One can't miss the sturdy foamy head produced by this darkened orange colored ale. The retention was impressive and it left clumps of foam about the edges of the glass.

Really big hops in the nose with a citrusy grapefruit and the unmistakable scent of a bouquet of flowers.

The flavors are less citrus and more floral hop cone. There is a ccramel malt backbone but the the floral hoppiness is most evident. Subtle spiciness, chive and just the barest hint of pine all make an appearance.

The feel is quite dry, relatively smooth but ultimately astringent.

This comes across as a hop bomb and that it is, just wished for more citrus in the taste.

Smell (4.50) - super fresh. Huge floral notes. Sharp smell of hops. I can almost taste the bitterness.

Appearance (4.25) - golden brown and slightly hazy. Creamy white head. Not much carbonation going on. Fantastic lacing.

Taste (3.75) - as the names hints, lots of hops. It's quite bitter but not as off he charts as something like hopstoopid. Floral notes are a definite. Bright overall character. Some slight caramels going on.

Mouthfeel (4.25) - crisp. Exactly how I would want this kind of beer. Good levels of carbonation. Abv is hidden pretty well but comes out in the finish.

Overall (4.25) - great beer that will definitely satisfy any hop heads out there. I think it lacks in the taste department but chances are that's just because of the overwhelming bitterness.
