22oz 2012 Ive been waiting along time to get to try this brew.

A- Pours black and thick with a tan head that dissipates across the top quickly.

S- Dark chocolate is most prominent. boozy bourbon and raspberry backing. Honey is strongest when you swirl the glass.

T- The same as the smell. Loads of chocolate mixed with smooth bourbon with the raspberries playing a their roll in the background. Finishes a dark, bitter chocolate.

D- Smooth, rich with mild carbonation

O- This is a good, balanced stout that I cant wait to try after it gets some age on it.

Pours jet black with deep maroon highlights. This is a black hole of a beer, even held up to the sun, no light permeates this behemoth! Small red tinted head that faded almost immediately. Very sparse lacing. Lots of raspberry on the nose with hints of chocolate and coffee. On the tongue, lots of raspberry followed by dark chocolate and a hint of black coffee. Finishes slightly dry and astringent. Full bodied with little carbonation. Overall, an outstanding stout that lives up to the hype!

Bottle shared with stillmatic2232.

Pours a dark black, with a half inch mocha colored head, and a good amount of lacing down the glass.

Aromas include fresh raspberry, roasted malt, and chocolate.

The taste is similar. There is only the lightest amount of roasted malt in the flavor- the raspberry and chocolate are the big starts. The raspberry flavor is mostly sweet and slightly tart- more jammy than reminiscent of whole raspberries. The honey provides an additional layer of sweetness as well. There is some rich milk chocolate, and a little bit of a lactose flavor. The bourbon flavor is very mild, and only noticeable when the beer warms up.

Medium bodied, but I wish it could be thicker, slightly thin for a BA stout. Low carbonation, creamy, sweet mouthfeel. Very drinkable.

This was excellent. Beef up the body a little bit, and it would be perfect.

A: The beer is jet black and poured with essentially no head, leaving only a minuscule ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of chocolate and raspberries are present in the nose. As the beer begins to warm up, slight notes of bourbon become noticeable.
T: Much like the smell, the taste has flavors of both chocolate and raspberries, the latter of which stand out and linger through the finish. Slight hints of sweetness from the honey are also perceptible. As the beer warms up, the raspberries become more dominant. No alcohol is perceptible.
M: It feels a little more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: If you like raspberries, this is a really nice imperial stout as they stand out and would make this a good beer to pair with a dessert. It tastes a bit strong, but is for the most part very easy to drink.
