A - Pours with a black, thick body and the head is just a dark brown ring around the glass. It would really look great with a little more carb so it's not looking flat out of the bottle.
S - Raspberry, roasted malts, dark chocolate, a touch of honey and bourbon barrels on the backend. The nose is really out of this world to me.
T - Raspberry and dark chocolate dominate and shine through on the taste. The raspberry is ever so sweet and ever so tart. I think the honey helps here. Roasted malts are present, but definitely take a backseat. The bourbon barrel come through in the finish and lingers.
M - On the heavy side of light to almost medium with minimal carbonation. It has a wet finish and is very drinkable.
O - I could drink this beer a lot and not tire of it. To me, it's hitting the right chords except for the appearance and mouthfeel, which is due to lack of carbonation.

Pours jet black with deep maroon highlights. This is a black hole of a beer, even held up to the sun, no light permeates this behemoth! Small red tinted head that faded almost immediately. Very sparse lacing. Lots of raspberry on the nose with hints of chocolate and coffee. On the tongue, lots of raspberry followed by dark chocolate and a hint of black coffee. Finishes slightly dry and astringent. Full bodied with little carbonation. Overall, an outstanding stout that lives up to the hype!
