Well this place used to have a decent singles section. Not anymore. It's going the way of the rest of Grand Ave. Straight into the grave. They have nothing worthy of stopping in for. The beer selection consists of a small two door soda cooler. Half is soda and other soft drinks. The other half is a few offering from Sprecher and Point. The clothing selection which what they are known for is limited to mostly Miller garb and a boat load of snarky Milwaukee themed t shirts. Of which 90% are women's sizes. The girl working behind the counter couldn't have been more disinterested in her job.

What a sad end to a place that used be a favorite stop for me in my younger years.

First off, this is not your typical beer store. In fact, it's not a liquor store at all but rather Brew City specializes in beer and Milwaukee related items. The important thing is that they do (at least this location) sell beer. Located on the 2nd Level in the Grand Avenue Mall in downtown Milwaukee, items such as T-shirts, pint glasses, books, posters, key chains, ect can all be purchased here. It's a great spot for a tourist or even someone with local hometown pride to purchase a Milwaukee souvenir. It's an interesting store for those who have a pechant for beer.

There are various Brew City stores at different malls around the city and at Summerfest, but the Grand Avenue store is the only one I have seen that sells beer. Primarily Wisconsin micro beer. You can find a large variety of single bottle offerings from New Glarus, Tyranena, Lakefront, Capital, Leinie's, Berghoff, Point, Central Waters, Harbor City and probably a few others I can't remember. In addition to Wisconsin micros they also offer a decent selection of regional micros. For instance, they have a nice variety from the Bell's line. It would be a great opportunity for someone to try, say a single bottle of Expedition Stout, without having to plunk down the $12+ on a six pack of it. Not that that's a bad thing either.

So although Brew City is not a full blown beer store, their niche lies with having an excellent variety of Wisconsin and some regional single bottles of micro beer for sale. Worth a look, especially if you're from out of town or just looking to purchase a good variety of local mircos without having to venture to a bunch of different stores to find them.
