can into delirium glass, my new fav. for the adjuncts
a-pale yellow gold. finger of foam dissipates but there was some random lacing. interesting.
s-very light. fairly sweet and a bit stale, really. quite faint overall
t-corn. sweet and crisp. some maltiness and a touch of bitter, but not much to it. the corn stays lightly in the aftertaste which is mostly absent.
m-so light, but pretty smooth. pretty watery however. not much body on this one.
d-beats kul! as dirty thirties go, not too bad. i actually kind of like it for drinking games, beer pong, etc. don't spend too much time tracking it down, but if you're looking for a case of cheap beer and it's an option, why not give it a go?

Pours a clear yellow with 1 1/2 finger head. Foam receeds immediately. Smells of malt and bread. Tastes thin with basic light malt mouthfeel, touch bitter after sipping. Low carbonation. Would not buy again.

12 oz can poured into a pilsner glass.
Calories 110, Carbs 6.7g, Protien 0.9g, Fat 0.0g, "Fully kraeusened, naturally carbonated, brewed with pure artesian water." 2310, 1243 on the bottom of the can.

Thanks to my old neighbor, Bryan, for giving me a can of this for review!

A - The billowing white head is kept aloft for a few moments by excessive carbonation. No lace left to speak of, this brew is pale straw yellow in color and very clear.

S - Sweet corn bursts from the nose. Lots of pale and pilsner malt to back it up. Grainy with wet straw hints. No hop aroma to speak of, LaCrosse Light finishes with a dirty, mineral water nose.

T - Grainy, dirty dry straw with a touch of malt to the finish. No hop flavor at all. A bit of corn sweetness lingers through the minerally finish.

M - Light-bodied and excessively carbonated, the biting bubbles are followed by a lightly dry, crisp finish and lingering mineral flavor.

O - Not a brew I'm excited to say comes from Wisconsin, but there are worse. In the college town-like area, I'm sure this average beer serves it's purpose. I won't be partaking in this grainy, dirty brew again anytime soon though.

I got this one out of the mystery beer machine at the bowling alley in Evansville, WI.

Took it down straight from the can. This is a good balanced beer. Light flavor and body. Taste is very refreshing and smooth. This is a very good beer for the price. I'll definitely pick some up this summer for some serious binge drinking.

La Crosse Light pours a clear golden body beneath a short head of bright white that quickly settles but somehow manages to maintain a thin, whispy surface covering. Additionally, it actually leaves some lacing on the glass, which is fairly unusual for a light beer.

The aroma is sweetish with an adjunct-like maltiness, and perfumey and a bit soapy.

The flavor delivers a fairly solid maltiness considering that it's a light beer, and some notes of grain are clearly noticeable. Floral and spicy hops are present as well, and it's fairly well balanced by a firm bitterness. Some maltiness does linger in the back of the mouth at the finish, but it's otherwise dry.

So, although it may not be as well made as some others, there is a little bit of malt and hop character to it; and it has a certain charm in that it's not just a super-clear, super-clean watered-down lager. Not bad given the price.

Poured from 12oz can to pint glass

A: Very light golden yellow. Puffy head supported by lots or carbonation that stays constant throughout the drink. A small amount of lacing from the initial head.

S: Not too strong, smells like hops/malts with a bit of citrus.

T: Surprisingly good, a decent balance of malts and hops with a small citrus note that becomes more noticeable as the drink warms a bit.

Overall I was very impressed by this beer. For the style it's one of the best I've had and is quite tolerable for a period of time. What impressed me more was that it's much cheaper than the larger known brands and much better tasting.

A- Pours a 1.5 finger bright white head over a light straw body with no sediment. After about a minute, the head recedes into a thin cap.

S- Light citrus, some light malt, just a hint of light hops.

T- Starts out with a light citrus malt and some seltzer water notes. Ultra clean finish with some residual malt.

M- Medium/High carbonation somehow isn't cloying.

D- This is a clean, no frills lawnmower beer. I'd probably choose PBR, Hamms or Premium over it, but for what it is, it's not bad.

For a light beer, this is tops for me. After a long day working in the yard, LaCrosse Light hits the spot.

Definitely not my favorite by any means but a good all around light beer.

At least this beer tastes like beer. Miller Lite, Bud Light, Coors Light....Yeah, I don't think so.

Try some. For the price, you can't go wrong. Somedays, you just feel like a light beer. Really can't say that a Stout or Porter would do what this can after a hot day playing ball or working outside. Goes down smooth. No negative aftertaste. Light, Crisp, refreshing.

Thats it!

This beer i have only tried a couple of times. I found that the aftertaste of the beer was very nice and taste was very smooth. For a beer that has been the original Old Style recipe(found that out by the brew master at City Brewery on the radio). The price was a great buy for a 30 pack. I recommend this beer if you are ever in La Crosse.
