Wow, even for an American Light Lager I can't score this high. I tend to rate by style not by personal satisfaction, but this was bad. The poor was from a can and a light yellow color. The head was bright white with small bubbles that faded almost instantly. The smell was almost all adjunct with rice and corn being the most dominant flavors. If they used hops, I am not sure where they went. The taste wasn't any better, the hops were non-existent, there was no sign of barley anywhere to be found, and the aftertaste actually tasted like chemicals. I can only assume this beer is loaded with preservatives from the way it lingered. The mouthfeel was thin if at all existent and the drinkability for me was low because the taste was hard to get past. I thought it would be a nice change to try a competitor of CMB in the A.L.L. category, but all I got was well-preserved rice water. Unless you're a college kid shopping purely for price and trying t get something besides Beast, leave this in the beer store.

12 oz can poured into a pilsner glass.
Calories 110, Carbs 6.7g, Protien 0.9g, Fat 0.0g, "Fully kraeusened, naturally carbonated, brewed with pure artesian water." 2310, 1243 on the bottom of the can.
Thanks to my old neighbor, Bryan, for giving me a can of this for review!
A - The billowing white head is kept aloft for a few moments by excessive carbonation. No lace left to speak of, this brew is pale straw yellow in color and very clear.
S - Sweet corn bursts from the nose. Lots of pale and pilsner malt to back it up. Grainy with wet straw hints. No hop aroma to speak of, LaCrosse Light finishes with a dirty, mineral water nose.
T - Grainy, dirty dry straw with a touch of malt to the finish. No hop flavor at all. A bit of corn sweetness lingers through the minerally finish.
M - Light-bodied and excessively carbonated, the biting bubbles are followed by a lightly dry, crisp finish and lingering mineral flavor.
O - Not a brew I'm excited to say comes from Wisconsin, but there are worse. In the college town-like area, I'm sure this average beer serves it's purpose. I won't be partaking in this grainy, dirty brew again anytime soon though.

Pours clear golden with no head. Very faint malt on the nose. That's about it. Decent taste for a light. Goes down pretty easy, as it should. Fair malt taste with no sign of hops anywhere. Light bodied and drinkable. No off flavors here. Decent light beer. Easily better than Miller Lite, Bud Light and most other macro brewed light beers.

Courtesy of Vinnys at the La Crosse airport. Sickly light yellow color with tiny bubbles and a thin white head that was gone fast. Minimal lacing. Faint hops aroma and not much else. Light and clean body without a lot of flavor but very refreshing and easy to drink. Light bitterness makes this beer a lot better tasting than it looks or smells. The finish is also clean and relatively flavorless aside from a light malt sweetness. Non-threatening and straightforward Light beer.

can into delirium glass, my new fav. for the adjuncts
a-pale yellow gold. finger of foam dissipates but there was some random lacing. interesting.
s-very light. fairly sweet and a bit stale, really. quite faint overall
t-corn. sweet and crisp. some maltiness and a touch of bitter, but not much to it. the corn stays lightly in the aftertaste which is mostly absent.
m-so light, but pretty smooth. pretty watery however. not much body on this one.
d-beats kul! as dirty thirties go, not too bad. i actually kind of like it for drinking games, beer pong, etc. don't spend too much time tracking it down, but if you're looking for a case of cheap beer and it's an option, why not give it a go?

For a light beer, this is tops for me. After a long day working in the yard, LaCrosse Light hits the spot.
Definitely not my favorite by any means but a good all around light beer.
At least this beer tastes like beer. Miller Lite, Bud Light, Coors Light....Yeah, I don't think so.
Try some. For the price, you can't go wrong. Somedays, you just feel like a light beer. Really can't say that a Stout or Porter would do what this can after a hot day playing ball or working outside. Goes down smooth. No negative aftertaste. Light, Crisp, refreshing.

Aroma is very standard for style. Pale malt a little sweet.
Very fizzy sounding, clear, yellow. Big white head that recedes rather rapidly.
Light dry malt, that moves to bitterness intime, to the point that as it warms it's mostly bitter. Fairly standard cheap light beer taste.
Tartness on the tongue, mostly from carbonation. Fullness from that too. Despite watery thinness some crispness.
I suppose in the scheme of things this is okay, for what it is. It's better than many of the macro versions, and cheaper too.

Poured somewhat roughly, I got about half a finger worth of head that instantly reduced to a swirl of misty bubbles in the brew. It's lightly golden and as clear as H20. Boring.
This has a rubbery or plastic like smell that isn't unpleasant. In fact, it reminds me of the way my He-Man toys smelled when I was a kid. Not really what I want to smell in a brew, but interesting nonetheless.
Very watery and fruity tasting. I taste melon and maybe tangerine. This is very light (no shocker...it's a light beer) but moderately tasty. This is an extremely carbonated lager. Very fizzy and light on the tongue.
This cheapo beer has a bit of a champagne quality to it that I really enjoy. Very airy and fresh, like a summer breeze. This is not complicated...just light, refreshing, and fruity. I'm not impressed, but for a light lager this is damn good.

Poured from 12oz can to pint glass
A: Very light golden yellow. Puffy head supported by lots or carbonation that stays constant throughout the drink. A small amount of lacing from the initial head.
S: Not too strong, smells like hops/malts with a bit of citrus.
T: Surprisingly good, a decent balance of malts and hops with a small citrus note that becomes more noticeable as the drink warms a bit.
Overall I was very impressed by this beer. For the style it's one of the best I've had and is quite tolerable for a period of time. What impressed me more was that it's much cheaper than the larger known brands and much better tasting.

Medium yellow in color; decent sized white head, with some bubbly lacing noted on the corners of the pint glass. The nose is dull--metallic and rough traces of hops. The taste is mostly grainy, tender notes of hops, crisp and sharp malt background. Smooth and easy drinking here; lets not put it in the category of SA Light, but far and away blows the BMC competition. Not a bad light beer here!

Very pale straw color, with a head that fades faster and more complete than any beer I have ever seen. Smells of light grassy malts, maybe just a tinge of skunk. Taste is very full for a light beer. A big malt presence, not much in the hops department, however. For a cheap American sub-macro, this was surprisingly satisfying.

A- Pours a 1.5 finger bright white head over a light straw body with no sediment. After about a minute, the head recedes into a thin cap.
S- Light citrus, some light malt, just a hint of light hops.
T- Starts out with a light citrus malt and some seltzer water notes. Ultra clean finish with some residual malt.
M- Medium/High carbonation somehow isn't cloying.
D- This is a clean, no frills lawnmower beer. I'd probably choose PBR, Hamms or Premium over it, but for what it is, it's not bad.

La Crosse Light pours a clear golden body beneath a short head of bright white that quickly settles but somehow manages to maintain a thin, whispy surface covering. Additionally, it actually leaves some lacing on the glass, which is fairly unusual for a light beer.
The aroma is sweetish with an adjunct-like maltiness, and perfumey and a bit soapy.
The flavor delivers a fairly solid maltiness considering that it's a light beer, and some notes of grain are clearly noticeable. Floral and spicy hops are present as well, and it's fairly well balanced by a firm bitterness. Some maltiness does linger in the back of the mouth at the finish, but it's otherwise dry.
So, although it may not be as well made as some others, there is a little bit of malt and hop character to it; and it has a certain charm in that it's not just a super-clear, super-clean watered-down lager. Not bad given the price.

I am rating this against other light beers. I gotta agree with Big Hugey....this truly has to rate as one of the best light beers out there. It is considerably better for it's style than the LaCrosse Lager. I consider this a very good thirst quenching regular ol light beer. It has some nice sweetness to it. I've got to taste it side by side against Lite or Bud Lite of Coors Lite because I truly think this would blow it away. It is smooth, and actually has some pretty good flavor..I can get it realatively cheap, and penny for penny it may be the best light beer made. With all that said, it certainly doesn't measure up to most of the good craft beers but for it's class it is certainly at the top of that class...a good cheap summer beer...thirst quenching with some decent flavor..

This beer is where it's at for light beers. Not as good as the full flavored, brother, but still very solid. Poured out to a Nice golden yellow color with a decent head, better than just about any light beer I have ever had. No lace around the glass. Odors of hops and grain. Flavor was better than your typical light lagers, with corn, hops and malt being noted. Not as weak as you'd expect from a light beer. Quite nice. Smooth and light mouthfeel. This is a solid deal and beer at 11.99/ a 30 pack. This is what a light lager should be. Highly recommended for Lager fans.

I got this one out of the mystery beer machine at the bowling alley in Evansville, WI.
Took it down straight from the can. This is a good balanced beer. Light flavor and body. Taste is very refreshing and smooth. This is a very good beer for the price. I'll definitely pick some up this summer for some serious binge drinking.

This beer i have only tried a couple of times. I found that the aftertaste of the beer was very nice and taste was very smooth. For a beer that has been the original Old Style recipe(found that out by the brew master at City Brewery on the radio). The price was a great buy for a 30 pack. I recommend this beer if you are ever in La Crosse.
