Many thanks to esch for a 4 pack of this beauty.

This pours a really dark brown with a light mocha head tha fades fast to a layer of foam. A little bit of lacing

Wow this one could stand up with Peche Mortel and KBS in terms of the great coffee smell on the nose. Just tons of fresh roast coffee as well as coffee grounds and a slight bit of sweet bourbon, vanilla and chocolate as it warms.

This ones is just an extremely smooth blend of coffee ann ever so sweet bourbony flavor. An extremely delicious beer. Less extreme on the coffee as the aforementioned two above so more roasty chocolate and bourbon flavor comes through.

A really creamy smooth mouthfeel that feels almost cask like.

As easy drinking as it comes for such a strong flavored beer.

12oz bottle, bottled April 3, 2014. Poured into an O'so snifter today, 4/20/2014.

A- Dark brown body, opaque. <1 finger offwhite head that dissipates quickly, little retention, no lacing.

S- Coffee, bourbon barrel, dark chocolates. And more coffee.. this beer is surprisingly full of coffee.

F- Coffee first with a dollop of sweet bourbon, a little bit of dark chocolate. Coffee is very forward, covers up the bourbon though. As it warms, more milk chocolate sweetness comes forward. Very delicious, if a bit lacking in bourbon barrel character.

M- Medium bodied but on the thinner end, low carbonation. Mostly bitter coffee on the aftertaste. Not hard to drink.

O- Good stuff. It's a slight improvement over Devil Made Me Do It, and on most days I'd rather drink that, but this is a real nice treat. I do think they should just make it 100% bourbon barrel aged, as while it is good on its own and presumably as the brewer envisions it, I would have liked more bourbon vanilla flavours and some more complexity to the beer to help counter the massive amounts of coffee in this one.

Served in a Tyranena snifter

A - dark brown, minimal head

S - mostly coffee, hints of vanilla from the barrel

T - coffee here as well predominantly, a little more barrel character here

M - smooth, no hint of alcohol

O - another winner from the BGW series, too bad this went so quickly

A-Pours a very dark brown, nearly black with a little copper on the edge. Creamy tan head that left some nice lacing.

S-Strong coffee aroma with some dark chocolate and just the faintest hint of bourbon barrel. The coffee definitely overwhelms the other smells.

T-lots of coffee flavor but not quite as much as the smell. The coffee is much more blended with the other flavors. Lots of dark chocolate, a little toffee and not much bourbon. I think it could use quite a bit more bourbon. It may benefit from full barrel aging versus just 60%.

M-Medium to full bodied. Low carbonation which is typical of a heavier beer.on the sweeter side but far from sticky sweet.

O-A very good beer, well worth the price at about $10 a 4-pack. For me it could use more bourbon barrel flavor but overall a really good beer that I'd recommend to friends and buy for myself again.

Pours a deep brown with a moderately sticky tan head.

Nose is coffee, cream and cocoa.

Coffee, vanilla, cocoa with a mild bourbon flavor on the back. Coffee lingers into the finish with some warm bourbon.

Very thin for the style. The only shortcoming of this beer.

Very tasty and reasonably priced beer. Just wish there was some more body and bourbon character. Great coffee beer though.
