A-Pours a rich deep ruby amber with lush off-white head and leaves decent lacing.
S-Floral hops with citrus notes of grapefruit, resin, and tangerine. Pleasant notes of rich toasted malt, and ripe blossoms. Specialty malts in this one too? There's also a pleasant rustic barnyard scent that lingers backstage.
T-Attack is fruity and slightly sweet, but bitter hops already ride in on the midpalate, and shorten the experience. The citrusy hops and roast malt ride through to the end, with the grapefruit dominating through the finish, and cleansing the palate. The toasted malt rides along well on the back of the hops, and both are bold and well-balanced.
M-Great mouthfeel, good carbonation and well-balanced body and flavor.
D-My second from this brewery this week. I need to stop by one of these days. Like the Hop Whore, I don't think this beer will appeal to everyone. It's rustic, bold, and ballsy, and the earthy edge seems to turn some people off, but I love it.
