Hazy, light amber color. Decent head, some retention.
... bottled October 09. It's over a year old.
Hops smell has faded. It smells mostly earthy and piny maybe with a bit of citrus. I'm getting a decent amount of malt, although nowhere near as much as I'd expect from such an old IPA. Although the nose is very subdued, this actually smells decent.
Tastes better than it smells. More pine flavor comes through, and the malt is actually a nice balance. Not what I look for in an IPA but this has aged pretty well I think.
I will definitely have to seek this out again and have it fresh.

Very smooth and not too “hoppy” for an IPA

> My old time favorite.
Always my first choice when I can find it on tap. (Review is for draught at D&V Shorewood, WI. - Sep.2017. )
On the one hand, there is a lingering earthiness, counterbalanced by a light-weight hoppy bitterness on the other hand.
To me, 《 There's no better woman than BITTER WOMAN ☆ 》

Good looking beer. Rich amber, orange in color, extremely clear. Two fingers of sticky white foam with good retention and lacing. Aroma is heavy citrus, grapefruit and orange. Dank with mild notes of pine as well. Hops pop less on taste. Some pine and citrus. Big malty backbone. Body is medium, moderate carbonation, and a dry, bitter finish. Overall, a nice classic IPA. Citrus/pine forward, plenty of malt for balance, and a dry finish. Good brew.
