Off the highway, turn left at the first light (Road V), pass Road A, and turn right into onto Owen St. (Its an industrial park kind of area). The brewery is a large boxy warehouse building. You pass the "tin beersman" on the way from the lot. The tasting room is inside the front door on the right.
The room doesn't have much ambiance per se, but what it does have are super friendly people and an impressive tap selection for such a small operation. I think there were 6 or so regular beers on plus 2 specials -- Hop Whore and Oktoberfest. The Rocky's Revenge was a decent brown with a nice bourbon layer. The Oktoberfest was also nice, maybe a little more hop than I like (and definitely not as malty as Spaten which is my favorite, but not many are...).
Unfortunately we *just* missed the Spank Me which blew an hour before we arrived. Too bad. Sounded impressive.
This a great little place to hit on the way into Madison or Milwaukee. And a GREAT VALUE.
(note: No food. Although they do offer free pretzels, and some folks got pizza delivered to the brewery which seems like a good option for eating in this town).

Met up for a bottle swap with a cool Madison BA, Ri0. Small place in a small town, but they make some good beer. You walk in to a typical bar. Tables line the wall and behind the bar they have about 15 taps. The place was clean and inviting. The bartender was pretty cool. It seamed as if she also helped brew. She knew about beer and took the time to chat us up. The one thing that I was disappointed with was the fact that they didn't have any of their brewers gone wild beers on tap. I think this series is the best beer they brew. But, I ordered a flight of mostly the regulars with a couple seasonals mixed in. The beer was good, nothing mind blowing, but solid. All in all a pretty cool place and one I would visit often if I was a local. I left with a growler of their house root beer, which was just as good if not better than the beer. Cheers.

A great brewery in a state with very good breweries. A drive from Madison, and a bit of a day trip from Milwaukee. Check the hours before you go. I had no indication it was open only at 430 pm and doors locked to the very minute. A decent sized room with a bar and tables, and lots of great glasses to try or buy. Not that much of a selection but of course all very good beers. Bartenders were competent, and i was nit getting answers by these ladies to basic technical questions. Most staff concerned with the big orders, and the multi growler fills. Being allergic to dogs, the constant presence of one by staff was not helpful.

Stop #224 on my brewery tour of the world.
25 minutes or so from Madison. Visited on a Thursday evening in early August - wonderful Wisconsin summer weather.
I was on my phone headset dealing with business pretty much the entire time so I lost a bit of focus (spoke low and sat outside away from others).
Pole barn facility with medium size tasking room and nice outdoor patio with lots of grassy area for youngsters to run around. Plenty of hops growing on their hop vines out back.
The bartender set me up with the full sampler, brought it out to me, and even came back to pick up the empties.
All beers were solid but the bourbon brown stood out. Just enough bourbon flavor to balance with the lighter brown style (as opposed to the usual imperial stout). Also served a sample of root beer which was a nice finish at the end.
A definite stop if you ever find yourself traveling from Milwaukee to Madison.

The Tyranena Brewery is extremely convenient for me being right across the street from my office. I stop there about once a week after work to have a couple beers and maybe pick up a case or growler.
A - The tasting room itself is very nice and laid back. Nice bar with about 15 stools or so and they also have a half dozen pub tables.
Q - All the beers from Tyranena have been very good. I think that I have tried pretty much all of them at this point. I really like their IPAs and pale ale. The Brewers Gone Wild series is very popular. Their summer beers are very good as well.
S - Tyranena has quite a few bartenders that work the various shifts. They have all been very friendly and are knowledgable about the beers.
S - They have about 10 taps or so which a lot of different styles covered - IPA, brown, pale ale, porter, amber, stout, blonde, hefe.
F - They don't serve food their, but are very open to people bringing in their own food or ordering delivery from one of the places in town. Oftentimes, they have snack mix or something on the bar.
I'm really a big fan of this brewery and will continue to stop in there regularly.
