Sampling right now on 2/16/14. From the back of the beer cooler from last autumn. bottled chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a handled glass stein.

Pours burnt orange in color with no head to speak of. Very spotty lacing is seen also but is very light. The aroma is of sweet malt with a hint of caramel. The taste is about the same with the malt really coming through that ends in a sweet at first then slightly bitter finish. Not over done and perfect carbonation.

Smell - It is a sweet malty smell.

Taste - It is a very malty beer, with a nice bread like flavor to it.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a light copper/ orange amber color with a one finger of fizzy white head. The head fades fast at first, but then slows at is gets smaller, eventually fading to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is heaviest of lightly toasted malt and a good amount of caramel sweetness. These aromas are the bulk of the smell, but other lighter aromas of a grassy and toffee aroma are there as well, overall creating a sweet and lightly roasted aroma.

Taste – The taste begins with some bready flavors with some caramel sweetness. As the flavor advances the bready flavors gain a bit of roasted nature toward the middle and the end. Along with the change in the bready flavors, there are also changes in the sweet flavors as well. The caramel at the front is joined by some toffee flavors in the middle and a lighter fruit flavor at the end. With all these transitions, an herbal and grassy flavor comes to the tongue more toward the end of the taste, leaving a decently roasted but moderately sweet and grassy flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly lighter side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. Both are rather appropriate for the style and quite appropriate for the flavor profile of the beer.

Overall – A rather average Oktoberfest. A decent blend of malt, roast, sweet and hop creating a rather easy drinking brew overall.

12oz bottle

A- Pours a clear copper color with golden hues when held up to the light.

S- The aroma is toasted malt and some tart citrus in the nose as well.

T- The taste like the aroma is mostly toasted malt flavors with a very moderate touch of hops in the finish.

M- The mouthfeel is light bodied and heavily carbonated.

O- Overall, this is a pretty average brew that I probably wouldn't purchase again. Not bad, but not something that stands out among Oktoberfest beers.

T: Taste of roasted malt, nice malt sweetness and bit of grain in the background. Mild bitterness and a clean finish.
