Poured into a 12 oz. tulip at Croft's Tavern, Spring City, PA
A- Slight deep brown body with red hues coming out. Tan head retains decently. A little lacing sticks to the glass as well.
S- Caramel, and a dark red wine flavor ( a little port like). Raisin and a small amount of alcohol in the nose as well.
T- Sweet roasted malts, dark fruit, and a little spice. Fresh yeasty Belgian spice. Very nice.
M- Tingle of carbonation, medium body, with a bit of creaminess. Sweet boozy finish.
O- This is more of a spicier version of a Dubbel, but very very tasty. Spices used sparingly, if at all, which make this a fine winter warmer in my book.

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance/ Very dark, almost black. A full 2 fingers of rich, brown foam that left a nice sticky lacing.
Smell/ A nice malt aroma with a toasty coffee and chocolate highlights in the background.
Taste/ The thing that I tasted most was a strong coffee flavor followed by a malty chocolate flavor. A slight hop presence was in the background.
Mouth Feel/ This was a very smooth beer wit a nice little hop bite right at the end.
Over All/ I really liked this beer. I think it was pretty well in line with the style. It is not the best winter style beer I have had but I went back and some more when I finished my first six pack. I would drink this again at any time.
