12 oz bottle poured into Hoegaarden glass

A--Kind of soda-pop bubbly upon pour. Ascending carbonation with unsubstantial head. Cloudy as expected, but not milky...best description of color and clarity is like early AM urine (sorry). Still surprised by volume of carbonation!

S--Pleasant and mild. Sweet. Coriander and orange peel as advertised. Wheaty, yeasty twang not unlike Blue Moon, but not as potent.

T--1st impression is an uninspiring middle ground between Hoegaarden and Blue Moon. Not sweet. Modest spicing. Simple and unoffensive. Uninspiring flavor potency.

M--Rather thin. Again, prominent carbonation doesn't do it for me.

D--Drinkable because it's weak and not really worth savoring. Burp-inducing carbonation reduces drinkability.

Appearance: Pale, hazy golden body, with faint, slow-rising carbonation, crowned by a modest, dense white head, which slowly fades away, and accompanied by a slight, show-rising carbonation.

Aroma: Coriander is very prominent in the aroma, as well as wheat, caramel, and curiously, a slight smokiness.

Taste: Opens with very strong coriander, as well as a lesser amount of wheat malt. As the taste progresses, The wheat lends a mild bitterness to the taste, followed by a moderate flush of hops at the close. Finishes with a dry, lingering hop presence;.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, very pleasant, and quite drinkable

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a twist-off screen, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

Pours golden (not as hazy as expected) with a thin, lasting head. Some lacing sticks.

The smell is of coriander, orange peel, some bready notes and pale malt.

The taste is of coriander, orange peel, and honey-like sweetness. It has a firm pale malt backbone. Finishes with a spicy dryness with a sweet kiss.

It is smooth, with a spritzy, but not fizzy, carbonation level. Very refreshing!

It uses the spices well - forward, but not overwhelming. The malt is strong and the yeast strain is somewhat muted for the style. It is an easy-drinking beer with nice aroma and flavors.

I was surprised to find it in a winter variety pack, but it does work for something lighter in the winter. It is an enjoyable, year-round brew!
