This pours a mostly clear, dark amber color with a slight off-white head. The aroma is fairly sweet and yeast for being an India Pale Ale. The taste is smooth, sweet, and fairly malty. In the finish there is a bit of a bitter taste but not anything you would expect from an IPA. Not bad by any means but certainly not very true to the style.

Pours into a tulip glass a nice looking blonde brew, with a scant head.
The aroma is of sweet tangerine and birthday cake. The malt comes across as a mild, wet cardboard and Rice Krispies in milk.
In the mouth the sweet citrus precedes a bitter pine. Whoa is the pine bitter! The malt backbone tries mightily to pull it all together, and is mostly successful, though the pine bitterness is a bit much. ABV is hardly there.
Medium-bodied and slick on the palate.
This is very much my style of IIPA: sweet, malty, fruity. The one drawback is, as it warms, the grain turns a bit leathery AND THE SWEETNESS GETS A BIT CLOYING -- starts to remind me of an over-sweet English barley wine, like Anchor Old Foghorn (though not as bad as North Coast Old Stock!) But at $7/four-pk., I'll take this any day of the week.
