Poured into shaker pint. Classic color, not much head to speak of.

Nose is all pie, makes me feel six and in my great-grandmother's house at Thanksgiving.

Taste is more complex. Pie, but also seeds, the nutmeg, the faintest cinnamon, an underlying creaminess that heightens everything.

Good at wet mouth, not watery.

A rightfully hailed offering, one of the most balanced and deserty of pumpkin beers I've experienced. Just done well.

I consider Schlafly to be the gold standard of mass produced Pumpkin Ale. While this is very good, I think it is a little over spiced. It gets better as it goes, but the cinnamon is just a little much for me.

Pours a fizzy brown with no head nor lacing. Taste was a nice surprise, medium body with pleasant, chewy notes of malt, pumpkin custard, and mild spice. I taste more pumpkin than spice, which is soooo refreshing compared to most pumpkin offerings. This is done right

Overall a very solid pumpkin ale. Good balance of spices but not overpowering. Can taste the cloves and nutmeg. Reasonably priced and definitely recommend and will buy again.

This is my first review and am impressed
with the pumpkin ale. Beautiful apple
cider color in a tall glass and the first
thing I smell is cloves, nutmeg,
and pumpkin. The taste for me is mostly
cloves, ginger and nutmeg with pumpkin
being a bit more subtle but good. lt's very
smooth and easy drinking. Sometimes it
tastes a little sweet but not overly. I give it
a "wow" and if you're thinking about
giving it a try don't hesitate as it`s a taste sensation.

4.02/5: Along with Schlafly's Pumpkin Ale, this is a paragon of the style; smells and tastes like pumpkin pie, not cardboardy potpourri

12oz bottle poured into Tubby glass that was recently hand washed using Dawn liquid and medium-hot tap water with a hardness of less than 1gpg. Also, I was dressed as a steampunk sumo wrestler as is tradition. The goggles chafed.

Season creep isn't just some pervert who waits for the leaves to fall before leering through some unfortunate nubile's bedroom window. It's also when Target puts up July 4th regalia sometime in March - or when the usual suspect Autumn ales hit the shelves sometime in mid June. If anything, climate change should delay seasonal release dates. Who wants a Christmas ale on a hot November afternoon?

I call for the brewing community to shift all Fall and Winter seasonal releases ahead by a minimum of three months. Dogfish Head Punkin in January. Great Lakes Christmas Ale lands in March. Maibock gets a slice of April, but it might get crowded. Summer exclusives will be available 10-11 months, minimum.

My favorite Pumpkin Ale. Finally had it for the first time on draught. What a delight! Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and fresh pumpkin. Taste is like liquid pumpkin pie.

Between the malts and all the pure pumpkin/herbs it smells and tastes like Pumpkin Pie crust with a hint of vanllia but in the most natural tasting way. Its pretty much perfect for a pumpkin beer. Smooth with a nice sweetness slight bittering from the pumpkin puree and hops. Great desert beer especially during the Halloween months.

Smelling more like apple cider, cinnamon, and cloves. the clear pumpkin-orange brew settled into my glass and generated only a modest layer of slightly cream-colored foam. The first taste and the aftertaste definitely are pumpkin pie, not too sweet and suggesting (at least to me before dinner) of adding vanilla ice cream to make a float. Interestingly, the pie-ness is less noticeable with subsequent sips and a bitter sourness becomes more prominent. It started out sort of round, but that too is giving way to astringency and carbonation. I guess this is a trick-and-treat beer... started off great, but now I'm holding off drinking the rest until I have something to eat.

Upon cracking the can it smells immediately like a fresh pumpkin pie. Partial amount poured into a glass with a relatively caramel Oktoberfest bier like color in the body with a flash of a white head that dissipated. Plentiful pumpkin spice notes mixed very nicely with a very malty Oktoberfest like base. In addition to the spice, I can taste the pumpkin pulp with afternotes of toasted seed character. A pretty good pumpkin beer that I think would satisfy Oktoberfest beer enjoyers as well. It's basically pumpkin pie in a glass but heavily oriented to a Oktoberfest twist.

Poured a dark amber color with a white head. The smell is of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and something else that I can't quite determine. Tastes like drinking a pumpkin pie.
