It looks like a Kolsch in the color, a pale golden yellow, only rather than the usual mild haze there's a heavy thickness. The head is clean white in color. It rises high but falls quickly, leaving a frothy foam on top and spotting behind.
The aroma's clean, if nothing else. There are lots of fruity esters and a wet powdered sugar sweetness along with a leafy light bitterness. It's a little bit bready as well.
I'm not sure what I'm tasting here, but I think somewhere along the line someone tricked these guys into thinking any light beer could be called a Kolsch. What there is is lots of sweetness, plenty of fruits mostly of pear and apple but with some tropical notes as well, and extremely light grassy bitterness. What isn't here is any kind of dryness to offset or balance it, any vinous character whatsoever, or pretty much anything distinguishing the style. It's fine to drink, but to style it's not. I suppose I should have known that when I read the words "Kolsch" and "ale" on the bottle together.
The feel is fine. The body is light, it's crisp, and it's clean. Dryness is lacking, though, and the same vinous character absent from the smell and taste is likewise absent in the feel.

Pours clear deep golden with a thin head that immediately becomes a small floating island. Some spots of lacing soon disappear.

The smell is of some grain with light floral notes.

The taste is of sweet-ish grain with some sour grapes, some bready yeast and some floral dryness in the finish.

Light bodied, crisp. Rather thin.

Pretty easy to drink. Has a nice enough floral touch in the finish. A little too much sour grapes. Not much to it, overall. It's okay to decent.

Poured into a pils glass.

3.25 A: Clear golden wheat color. Two fingers of frothy white head. Retention is about average and a small amount of lacing is left.

3.25 S: Grassy hoppiness. Sweet neutral maltiness. Hay and lager yeast. A bit doughier than I'd like. Could be a bit cleaner, but it's still pretty good.

3.25 T: Like the nose. Grassy hops, hay, sweet neutral malts, and some doughiness. Again could be cleaner, but not bad.

3.5 M: Lighter body. Good moderate carbonation. Crisp and refreshing as it ought to be.

3.5 D: Decent kolsch. It's a lot cheaper than the best ones out there, so I guess it has a niche.

(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer pours a crystal clear lemon yellow body with a big bubble carbonation and a fizzy white head that is soon gone leaving a few bubbles to the side of the glass.

S- The dry field corn aroma has a green bitterness in the finish that grows but otherwise the aroma is pretty clean.

T- The dry sulfur and corn taste has some Noble hop hint in the finish with a dandelion and pith bitterness that lingers after each sip.

M- The light mouthfeel has a full fizzy finish that only enhances the bitterness.

O- This beer is dry and thin with no Kolsch characters at all and becomes a bit harsh making hard to finish one glass.

Was stretching it to get my mix sixer full of new beers, not much expected of this one, given Point's crappy offerings up to this point...

Pours golden with a pinky of pearl colored head. Hear retention & lacing are lacking

S: Cereal & white grape juice perfumy hops as this warms

T: Follows the nose, a touch of lemon & grainyness mixes with pear up front. Pears & peppery hops as this warms. Finishes fruitty with slight hop spicyness & a touch of dryness

MF: Crisp, fairly light bodied, thickens up a tad as it warms

Easy drinker, maybe the best beer I've ever had from these guys. Not a great Kolsch, fairly true to style. Wouldn't turn this down if offered one
