Pours a light amber/copper color with a thin white head that recedes quickly. No lacing. A little bit of carbonation bubbles.

Nose is pretty subtle. A little bit of citrus, a bit more pine and a little bit of maltiness.

Taste is very piney. A little bit of sweet, caramel malts. Quite watery. Grassiness becomes more noticeable on subsequent sips, giving the taste more of the complexity that it needed after the first few. Seems to be just the slightest hint of honey, as well. Finishes up with a bit of bitterness.

Light bodied and well carbonated. A little bit too watery for me, could've benefited from some resin to go with the pine hops.

Overall, a decent offering from SPB. This IPA won't be able to hack it with the big dogs, but one of the better offerings from them. If you wanted an IPA that's easy to drink and not too strong, I'd give this one a try.

I was exited to try this "galaxy" hopped IPA from Point (which is capable of brewing solid beers).

I find this to be a relatively balanced IPA with a good dose of caramel malts and the hops leaning pretty decidedly toward pine.

Aroma is pretty fragrant with the pine tree notes...and the taste pushes that direction as well with a little more of a balanced malt backing.

Surprisingly it drinks a little light and slightly watery for the style. To me it seems like an American version of an ESB.

For the price this is a nice get.

A: crystal clear; bronze; with a fairly aggressive pour, a 1.5 finger head that receded over a few minutes; spotty lacing;

S: caramel malt:

T:more malt than hops; caramel and toffee; the hops are earthy; some sweetness in the mid-palate leading to a long, moderately bitter finish;

M: medium bodied; light to moderate carbonation; dry finish; ABV is hidden nicely;

O: with the strong malt presence, this is a little more of an English style IPA rather than an American hop bomb;
