Pours a rich deep mahogany with brownish hints, clear, 1/4th finger cream head that leaves before you get a chance to say hello.

Smell is bready, toffee, light caramel

Taste is light caramel, a lot of bready malt coming through, bread, bread with even a hint of bread, light toffee, plum

Mouthfeel is medium full, lighter on the carbonation, clean finish and very easy drinking for the style

It is decent, nothing great, I much prefer my homebrewed scotch ale and the like of Dirty Bastard, Warped Speed and Scotty Karate to this. With that said it is in no way a bad beer, just nothing stands out and it becomes a little one note and bland.

12 oz twist off bottle poured into a snifter
6.5% ABV

A - This wee heavy quietly pours a glorious ruby mahogany color with clarity showing through the dark beer. It's thick ivory head flees quickly, leaving freckles of lace dotted on the snifter.

S - Voluptuous maltiness softly escapes with Munich breadlines, caramelized undertones, and notes of toast with just a faint hint at peat smokiness wafting in through the background.

T - It's soft aroma alludes to a somewhat tame brew but the maltiness brings a lot of sweetness to the palate. Notes of toffee and caramel surround Munich bready qualities and trace undertones of dry toast.

M - Cooler, longer fermentation produces an exceptional smoothness and rich, medium-full body that resounds with controlled sweetness for a pleasing finish.

O - Malt complexity is the name of the game for this Whole Hog release and Point pulls it off without a hitch; it's deep, smooth, and most definitely enjoyable, clocking in on the lower end of the alcohol spectrum for a wee heavy.

A: 3.5 - Mahogany colored, with a small, quickly fading head
S: 3.25 - Disappointingly faint, just some very light caramel.
T: 3.5 - Highly sweet malt dominates, mostly caramel. Yeasty esters give a little fruitiness.
M: 4 - Creamy texture, lots of body
O: 3.5 - One dimensional for a wee heavy. Needs more malt character.
