Clear garnet color with a short-lasting head and no lacing. Medium body and carbonation levels. The nose is sweet like a praline-studded breakfast pastry on this one, but thankfully the flavor isn't quite as cloying as that would have you expect. Instead, it tastes like more like a standard earthy-nutty brown malt combo with just an edge of tart fruitiness used as a framing device for the malty goodness. Now if only the nose was up to the standard of the flavor...

On-tap at the Beach Club in La Pointe, Madeline Island, Wisconsin. Tasted 21 August 2011, reviewed from notes.
Pours a medium reddish brown. Brought to me with little head, but what was there stuck around, and lots of lacing clings to the glass. Taste is malty but balanced, with a nutty, light sweetness. Finish slowly fades away. Mouthfeel is the highlight - medium-bodied, creamy, with lots of little bubbles. Overall it's a decent, light, brown ale - refreshing and good, but nothing special.
