Purchased as part of "build-your-own-six-pack" at local grocer. Poured a medium foamy head on a dark amber body. Smells of sweetness, caramel, and coffee...nothing exceptional. The taste was very nice, however, starting sweet, the coffee poking through, then a very sweet finish. Little chocolate and hopiness mixed in there. Porters aren't among my favorite styles, but this one is pretty tasty.

Pours a slightly transparent cola color with a thin cap of khaki bubbles. Aroma is very faint, smelling of caramel and perhaps chocolate--it's difficult to say. Taste is similar to the aroma, being that it is also thin and one-dimensional. There's some caramel sweetness and a dash of hops to balance, and not much else. I hope this just needs a little time to warm and open up, or else there's not much else to say (as a matter of fact, something akin to burnt marshmallow does manifest after some warming). The body is a shade thin but within the acceptable range for the style.

I'm usually pretty easy to please when it comes to porters, but this falls short of the mark.

a clean amber/brown hue with 2 fingers of creme colored head and nice lacing for a porter.

smells of nuts, toffee, caramel, chocolate, coffee. the flavor has a vanilla kick up front followed by nuts, dark fruit (almost like a quad), hint of cocoa, and a complex sweet malt bill, which is impressive considering the low abv.

medium body on the lighter side with a decent amount of carbonation.. creamy on the lips and pretty filling for a light porter!

nothing too impressive with this one, but it's a pretty good porter nonetheless.

What a great porter. I'm no beer snob so my descriptions are to be taken lightly. This porter has a good flavor. Notes of smoke, and molasses hit the nose. Strong at first but finishes smooth. Not a bad beer to drink to get started into porters. It was a lot lighter than I anticipated. I'm just getting into ports/stouts and this was a great first pick. I really like the flavor profile and how it finishes. You don't get a sour face or bitter finish, this porter is sweet, but subtle.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Blatz glass.

A- Pores a deep dark brown with a fat fizzy white head. Is clearly well carbonated. surprisingly when held up to the light there is actual a very slight amount of head retention.

S- The smell is rather faint being somewhat chocolaty while having the underlying profile of burnt malts. Slightly smokey.

T- The taste is slightly sweet and malty while being overly smokey. The finish is somewhat bitter as the result of the smokey taste of burnt malt With some slight cofee and espresso notes. Not very complex and pretty basic.

M- Rather high carbonation for a porter with a rather light mouth feel to it. Has very light qualities with a very watery texture.

O- A very sub par porter that leaves quite a bit to be desired. Rather unfortunate. The sight of the beer alone after first being poured told me right of the bat that this was going to be a rather low quality porter. As much as I hate to say it for Wisconsin brews this one is pretty much just worth avoiding.
