Revelation is our legendary IPA for the hop lovers. Citrusy American hops added by the sack full and dry hopped with the ‘Hop Rocket’ to boost flavour. A stellar adventure.

June 2016: Cask halfpint at the Brewery Shades, Crawley. 5.7%. Golden color, white head. Distinct hoppy aroma, notes of citrus and pine. Refreshing hoppy flavour, tingling fruit (esp. citrus) and pine needles. Good beer.

500ml bottle. An excellent modern English IPA from Dark Star that uses US hops to great effect. It marries citrus, grapefruit and robust, sharp bitterness to a classic pale ale malt base. An excellent summer pint, with more complexity (and alcohol) than Hophead.

Balanced taste of malt and hops. Mild toffee present. Long bitter finish.
Middling carbonation and feel.
Closer to a new wave EPA than APA.

On cask at Belfast Beer Festival, 2016.
Crusty white over tarnished gold. 4
Raisin, apricot, and overripe orange. 4
Light toffee, then honeydew, rotten lime, lemongrass, papaya, and a dry cut. 4
Oily, almost medium, chewy. 4
Centennial, Cascade, Citra, Liberty.
Gooey hop resin - melon and dank and loveliness. Stompin’, if not quite the match of Darwin’s Origin. Balanced, subtle, clean. 4.25

Via cask at a pub in Brighton. Surprisingly well hopped, bitter, could pass for an ipa.

• Look – 4.25 – Gold color and clear, little head that leaves nice lacing
• Smell – 4.0 – Couldn’t get much smell but did smell fresh and fruity
• Taste – 4.5 – Nice and refreshing, really easy to drink – not sure if it’s a pale ale or an IPA – I’d say the former but either way – really nice
• Feel – 4.25 – Light to medium mouthfeel
• Overall – 4.25 – Really enjoyed, could drink many of these! And want to try on tap.

From a cask at the 2015 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting.
Feel: Medium-light body with light carbonation.
Clear amber, but not good clarity, with a sudsy head.
Very hoppy for a pale ale, so hoppy it could pass for a American Psle Ale or even an IPA. Fruity, herbal and floral.
