Very dark for a pale ale, not much of a smell, hops are very light, and pretty malty. Drank in a crowler from 5-24-19, about two weeks old. An ok beer. Not recommended.

Minocqua Pale Ale pours a copper color, with a small head, no lace. Grassy and crisp hoppy aroma. Flavor is lighter, but with a good fresh hop flavor, and a dry finish. Just a tad light. Overall, very easy drinking pale ale, with good fresh flavors.

This brew was fairly clear dark golden/light copper color with a thin white head. The nose is moderate-high citrus and floral hops with just a bit of sweet malt. The flavor is moderately hoppy -- much like the nose with a solid, moderate hop bitterness and just a bit of sweet malt in the background. The body and carbonation are both medium. Overall a well brewed APA, nothing overwhelmingly impressive, but solid.

4 oz tap pour into a mini pint at the Minocqua Brewpub in Minocqua, WI. Served as "Minocqua Pale Ale"
A - Hazy golden yellow with no head on the beer. It's both a little darker than a typical pale ale and also sup-par in delivery.
S - Lightly floral and fruity citrusy hops have the most hop level of any of their beers so far. I wonder if they stay away from the hops... Low pale malts come through in the background.
T - Low pale malts have a twangy citrus dusty pollen-like floral flavor that needs a lot more malt balance and a more polished hop flavor.
M - Crisp and light with a dry finish and mild bitterness. Medium-light bodied.
D - It's an easy-drinking pale ale but it needs more body and more care with the hops used. The dusty pollen-like texture and flavor wasn't that good.

part of the sampler paddle
a-a dark straw, almost brown in color, moderate clarity. a finger of off white foam leaves moderate lacing.
s-citrus, nutty?, and pine
t-light citrus, but i had a lot of malty not flavor, strange. reminded me of Kenebunkport Pale Ale from Trader Joe's in this respect.
m-feels like a pale ale, but still strange with the nutty taste.
d-of the 7, this was probably my 5th or 6th. pass on this and get something else.

I wish my work sent me to Minocqua (previous review)!
This beer looked like a very serious IPA...a hazy dark straw color with a minimal soapy head that appeared as if it could be skimmed off and used to blow bubles in the yard. IMO, this appearance often foretells a pretty serious blast of hops, and I was a bit disappointed by the actual flavor of this beer. This pale ale is noticeably hoppy but not decidely so, and has some malt balance to it. Mouthfeel was a bit thin, flat, and watery.
I would say this beer is just OK...not sure how it stacks up to Minocqua's other offerings, but I was neither impressed nor offended by this beer.
