First of all, you really got to like a place attached to a brewery and a small tasting room. Service is always at it's zenith when dealing with the O'so people, for they are real people, our people. They had a selection of different types of beer kits and had plenty of pointers beyond what was included in the kits, something you listen to more from a successful brewery than some joe at a homebrew shop. It appeared a few kits didn't have the right yeast (if I can remember right) but all in all it was a great experience as I introduce myself to the making of beer.

I started home brewing beer back in August of 2007. When I lived in central Wisconsin this was my go to place. The owners were very supportive and answered all my questions and pointed me in the right direction for resources for learning more and more about brewing beer. They pretty much have everything you could ask for in terms of ingredients. They have the basic set up kits for starting to brew with extract. They do have their brewery next door, which I believe they will use to expand the home brew shop once the brewery moves? Maybe then they will have all grain gear. All in all this is a great place to go for home brewing beer. They also have deals going on all the time, and are connected to a lot of events and home brew clubs in centeral Wisconsin.

I started brewing my own beer in October of 2009. A friend of mine offered me some tips and tricks in order to get me on my way. He walked me through the Point Brew Supply (PBS) in an effort to get me set up with all the fermenters, tubes, measuring tools, and ingredients I need. With his help and the help of the PBS staff I was set up in no time. Since that day I've been back multiple times. Everytime I go in the service is fast and friendly. I compared the cost of items at Point Brew Supply PBS to the same items available for purchase online. With shipping, the prices at PBS are cheaper than online stores.

What's even better is that any day of the week you can stop in and enjoy a pint or two in their tap room. You see, the O'so Brewing Company is owned and operated by the same lovely folks that operate PBS, and all the O'so brewing is done in the same building.

I'm not a brewer but I have a good friend who is and thought it would be a good idea to buy him something from there for his birthday. The person working the counter was very helpful and recommended some stuff that my friend might enjoy. I didn't know what he had for equipment so I opted for a gift certificate.

Since my friend lives in Chippewa Falls I asked if they had a website and if he could redeem his certificate there. They said that they do and that was no problem. My friend ended up coming here and spent his gift certificate in person and he commented about how reasonably priced they were and that they had a great selection.

Needless to say, I got to also help him indulge in his gift after he brewed it. An excellent area store...I look forward to going on a brewery tour soon!

I guess I have a hard time being impartial in this review because the owners are my friends. But they weren't my friends until I walked in the door and they helped be become a brewer. The selection will allow you to brew anything your heart desires, thier kits are quality, they sell wine making gear as well, and hydroponic supplies for...tomatoes. Thye also have a hotline that will assit you at anytime. They are great folks, and Os'o Brewwing in the same building, so fill your growler while your at it.

Great homebrew shop with everything one needs for brewing, winemaking, or hydroponics but Point Brew Supply really stands out as the home of the newly formed O'so Brewing Company. One free (very generous) tap sample of O'so's beers is available each day to customers. All of O'so's beers are available for sale at very reasonable prices to go in the bottle. The place is family owned and run and the staff are wonderful, experienced home brewers, helpful, and friendly. Located less than 10 minutes from highway 51/39 in Plover, this is a highly recommended stop to Wisconsin BAs traveling Up Nord. Stop in, have a beer, buy some malt, and chat with the great staff.
