Thanks to my BA brother in law Craig for bringing this up to the northwoods of Wisconsin, along with some tasty homebrew i might add.

A decent looking IPA, clear amber, and very mildly carbonated. Managed a one finger pale tan head that faded to leave a thin collar of lace.

Very nice aroma of caramel and tangy, sweet and bitter ruby red grapefruit with accents of pine and papaya. Hints of booze and toasted malts also present and make for a nice overall olfactory presentation.

Very tasty, toasted pale malts with flavour of toasted bread and lesser hints of toasted nuts give way to the hops, with their flavours of tropical fruit and pine. Caramel sweetness with hints of richer toffee also come along for the ride. Ruby red grapefruit bitterness with hints of papaya and sprigs of pine make this what it is supposed to be, an american IPA.

A solid, medium bodied brew, with an excellent balance between malt and hops. Just enough lingering hop bitterness to remind the drinker that this is an IPA, and almost palate stripping. Some boozy warmth comes through and adds to the overall experience of drinking this smooth ale.

Very drinkable, enough tasty hops to keep one interested and coming back for more, and more. And the malts are quite tasty and rich as well. Despite the touch of caramel sweetness it manages to finish slightly dry thanks to the toasty malts, keeping this a refreshing and quenching beverage. Slight booziness only enhances the drinkability short term, and id love to see just how sessionable this one is, i suspect it would be one hell of a treat to drink this all night long.

Poured into a Bell's Tulip on 7/25/12

A) Clear, pale golden yellow of medium depth with burnt orange layers. One thumb head deflates quickly to a thin layer of small, tightly grouped bubbles. Some drippy lace remains.

S) Bright aroma with notes of orange, lemon, herbal hops and a touch of grass. Undertones of toasted grains and crackers. Orange and herbs prove to be the prominent aspect.

T) Quick, tangy hops bite at the front end - herbal tidings first, followed by bristly orange peel. Hops carry the finish with a lingering bitter notion. All the while malts are rather tame and get caught up in the hop kick and carbonation.

M) Speaking of carbonation, this is easily on the vigorous side of things. That said, the carbonation is more fluffy than pointed so it works with the flavor of the beer. Medium-light body and a crisp feel.

D) Despite not having one of my favorite hop profiles, this is pretty enjoyable and easy to drink. Not great, but good enough.

Appearance: Burnt orange color to this brew. Light head on the pour and retained throughout. Low active carbonation active in the glass while drinking. Some random lacing on the sides of the glass.

Smell: Forward front of very sweet caramel malt and some bright hops. The malt evens out in the body of the aroma and the hops seem to fall off. The aroma feels more like a malty APA to me.

Taste: The front is a very light malt presence with some watery hops. The body opens up a bit with some balanced hops and malt sweetness. The finish is very low on any kind of bitterness or hop presence.

Mouthfeel: Nothing too outstanding to report. Somewhat forgettable.

Overall: Nothing out of this beer makes me remember it. Lots of sweet malt, needs a strong hop presence to call itself an IPA.

Appearance - Light amber. Clear. Short foamy off-white head with good retention.

Smell - Medium-light citrusy hops. Orange. A little sweet light malt.

Taste - Sweet light malt. A goodly dose of citrus and resin hops. Orange and pine, a little toast. Comes across as a little sweeter than most in this category, but the hops are sufficiently prominent. And it has a nice flavor.

Mouthfeel - Medium.

Overall - I'm not a hophead, so the balance of this beer doesn't bother me. In fact, I probably enjoy the slightly more prominent sweetness. Goes down awfully smooth.

12oz bottle, no date. no idea what to expect with this one

clear golden straw color upon further inspection is laced with lots of fine sediment. smell is airy; grassy, a little boozy, with some skunky lemon. taste is hop-E and bit-TER, almost reminds me of smuttynose finestkind. some nice hop burps to be had.

glad i took a chance on this one.

poured 12oz bottle into Duvel tulip

A - Deep and clear golden beige in color with a fat 2 finger white head. Fades into a thick collar with a plethora of lacing.

S - Light carmal malts with an earthy, floral and pine hop scent. It smells rather fresh and not dank.

T - Mild bitter hops, with some grass and earthiness. I do not pick up much citrus flavor in this. Nice light bready and caramel malts round it off. Finishes with a touch of pine bitterness. A tasty, but mild IPA.

M - Medium body with solid carbonation. More oily and slick than sticky mouthfeel.

O - Easy drinking IPA that I would only have if there weren't any better choices around. It's not bad, it just doesn't stand out.

Served from a bottle at a Red Robin.

A=Nice, rich reddish color. Head was short-lived.

S=Hint of citrus, but not very evident.

T=The first three sips were overpowering with alcohol and bourbon flavors; very hoppy...I am not a huge IPA fan, but this had way more hops than others. A hint of citrus. I got used to it, but this was not one of my favorite beers, even among IPA's.

M=Nice body, perfect (low) carbonation.

O=If you love IPA's with lots of hops, you may like this. Still the alcohol/bourbon taste at the start really got this off on the wrong foot. I definitely won't buy again...and probably would pass on this if offered to me.

Pours a clear orange with a half finger of head.

smell is nice, floral hops, citrus, sweet malt

Taste is very even between the malt and hops, bitter citrus, sweet malt, herbal hop flavor, semi bitter linger.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated, semi dry finish,

Pretty decent beer here. Nothing to go out of your way for, but also nothing you will be sad you got either! Just one of those beers you could drink and not think about to much!

12 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint.
6.4% ABV, no Julian date.

A - Perfectly clear and bright golden in color, Kiss The Lips has a nicely formed skim of ivory foam that, unfortunately, quickly diminishes leaving few dots of lace left on the pint.

S - Kiss The Lips' subtle earthy hop aroma carefully introduces grassiness and notes of pine through the caramel malt aroma for an approachable IPA nose but soft butter and creamed corn notes muddle the aroma.

T - Still mildly hoppy, Kiss The Lips shows off some sharp pine characteristics with traces of lemongrass citrus/earthiness following the malty flavor upfront. Pilsner sweetness and similar buttery notes come forwards but aren't as distracting in flavor as aroma.

M - The malty backbone of Kiss The Lips provides a solid support system for the feel with a smooth, medium body that works well to balance the dry, lingering bitterness the hops impart on the palate.

O - Kiss the Lips might not be the hop head's first choice when reaching for a potent hop-bomb, but this IPA delivers a nice lingering bitterness and earthy hop flavor while remaining sessionable for the long haul; an easy drinking IPA that goes down smoothly.
