I've been looking to try another scotch ale since the Sam Adams I tried recently, and I'm in luck.
Pours a dark and rich brown, with a creamy....cream colored head. Decent amount of lacing trails down the glass as I go.
The thing that I loved so much about the Sam Adams Scotch Ale was the use of the peat smoked malt, and that is missing here. The beer has a fantastic foundation, but the use of that heavenly malty taste would've been perfection.
As is, I still very much enjoyed my trip to Warp Speed. That's about how quickly I drank it because it's so damn smooth and tasty.
The scotch is present, but plays more of a supporting role beneath the canopy of roasted and slightly smoky malted barley. Delicious. Absolutely recommend this -- especially on tap.
Serving type: on-tap
