Thanks to Flyingbison for this!
Wow does this pour gorgeous. It's very dark yet almost lavender on the edges. Head rose to nearly an inch and then died down. Some lace was left behind
Nose is like some strange slice of sweet wheatbread mingled with a smell I can only describe as pure sugar cane.
Damn. At first when I tasted this all I could think of was a stout flavored with granny smith apples. I'm not even kidding. Yes I did let it warm for about a half hour before I tried it. Now that it's become almost warmer than room temp the flavor is finally opening up a bit more. At first all I could taste was chocolate, some espresso and granny smith apples. Now I get the same taste as I did in the nose, sweet wheatbread. It's interesting but ultimately a letdown.
Mouth is nice with passive carbonation that is very subtle. Ultimately it's like Georges St. Pierre said to Matt Hughes, "I am not impressed with your perform-ance." Did this taste good? Yes. Does it fit the style imo? No.
