12oz bottle.

A: Clear medium-amber body under two fingers of frothy white head. Good retention, great lace. Excellent.

S: Bready malt, graham cracker, and butterscotch Slight herbal notes. Pretty weak.

T: Buttery, sweet malt dominates, with graham cracker and herbal bitterness. Bready aftertaste. Mediocre.

M: Medium body, plenty of creamy carbonation. Good.

O: This wasn't terrible, but it was below average for the style and not a particularly enjoyable beer to drink. Perhaps I got an old bottle from the mix-a-six rack at Trig's in Rhinelander, but in any case I'm in no hurry to revisit it.

Cheers!

Clear reddish-brown, decent initial head and some lacing.

Full of earthy hops, caramel and malt.

Malt, tea, cherry, black pepper, rye, and a mineral aftertaste. How's that for some weird flavors?

Medium-thin mouthfeel, heavy carbonation.

This was all right. Felt like a juiced-up red lager at times, but it wasn't bad.

(Served in a strange)
A- This beer pours a crystal clear orange hue with a sticky antique white head. There is a slow carbonation of a few bubbles working to the surface.

S- The cereal and corn chip aroma has an odd lard note to the finish with some cream notes in the finish.

T- The slight buttered corn quality with some green hop finish with some pungent note lingering. Some spice hop to the hop grows as the beer warms.

M- The light mouthfeel finishes as a gentle fizz.

O- The odd aroma starts to remind me of taco shells but the taste is a bit better.

Got this courtesy of my good friends Kristle and Jeremy, much thanks. It pours a copper/amber blend with no sediment. A 1/2 inch light tan head forms reducing to an over-the-top lacing. Carbonation is visible.

The aroma is a bit pungent with some earthy hop tones with some rye and sweet malt components, but mild.

The taste is very natural. Some earthy and grassy components combined with a malty sweetness including caramel and some minty notes hidden.

The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied. Carbonation is a bit high. It leaves a nice dry finish with smooth overall performance.

The best part is that each component is not overwhelming, which makes this and easily sessionable beer.

Lake Louie Mosquito Beach

Pours a light copper in color. In the taste, sweet malts and grain, fruity ale yeast and a mild hop balance. A little green apple, caramel, tea like hop bitterness and a more or less clean finish. Mild but a decent beer, glad I got an opportunity to try it.

Single from Woodmans. Tawny copper pour, good clarity, creamy off white foam. Surface texture is fine and creamy like nitro Guinness. Head retention is pretty good, it doesn't break after the first few sips.

Banana yeast esters, nutty bready maltiness.

Lightly bitter aftertaste, key malty flavors of multigrain bread and bitter walnut. Medium bodied, slightly creamy. Fairly simple and straightforward, easy enough to drink. Glad to see Lake Louie trying their hand at different styles like this.

A-Pours a deep copper color with minimal head that stays in a ring on the surface of the beer.
S-Aromas of rye and toasted malt.
T-Very malty. Flavors of rye and toasted malt. Slightly bitter.
M-Good malt body, light carbonation, finishes fairly dry.
Overall, a tasty beer and very good for the style. Slightly bitter and very malty.

12 oz bottle into a snifter. Drank after a bottle of Anchor Steam as a manner of comparison within the style. The differences are striking.

Reddish-brown pour...what is that, mahogany? Head retention is near non-existent, settling to a still dark pool. Lace spatters the glass.

Scorched brown sugar, thick malt sweetness, dose of pine, and Smarties candies.

Toffee and rye bread segues to a moderate pine and orange citrus hoppiness. Finishes clean and rather abrupt.

Creamy and medium bodied with a clean finish and only a hint of lingering malts in the form of toffee bars.

While inconsistent at times, I really do appreciate the goings-on at Lake Louie. It's fantastic to see such a small operation pumping out a wide variety of styles and taking risks. Well done, Tommy.

poured 12oz bottle into pint glass.

A- Clear amber honey hue with a 2 finger white head.Nice retention that fades into a ring and leaves some webbed lacing.

S - Sweet amber malts, some light grains with a bit of citrus and floral hops.

T - Very pleasant flavor. Starts off with some sweet amber malt, light caramel and then moves into citrus and floral hops. The bitterness is present, yet faint.

M - Light, crisp, well carbonated for the style and refreshing.

O - This is one nice Lager from Lake Louie. It has more hops that previous (older) reviews would indicate so I wonder if there is a newer recipe since it has made a return.

Appearance - Brownish amber. Clear. Medium tall off-white head. Persistent.

Smell - Sweet caramel malt. Maple syrup. Not catching much in the way of hops.

Taste - Very robust malts. Sweet and medium dark with flavors of caramel, maple syrup, and fruit (maybe even a little black cherry like they say). Nice hit of piney hops. Little bit of lingering bitterness and fruit.

Mouthfeel - Medium and well carbonated.

Overall - Good to see a local take on the steam beer. And a very flavorful take it is.
