Poured into a pint glass giving off a very dark walnut brown body. Head is a soapy brown/gray with some retention but not much. Has these nice dark red hues on the side of the glass, fairly interesting looking. Head leaves and goes
Bouqeut is a perfumed soap and malt mostly and some alcohol heat, not much else but pretty straight forward.
Very good mouthfeel with a slight licorice finish. Malt action at first giving to a pleasurable thickness of faint licorice. Hints of weak chocolate as well, even some berry/cherry fruit also. Carbonation is also really tolerable also.
Pretty good nice little stout I would have again.

Found this in one of my boxes 'o beer I've got stashed at my friend Justin's (BA OKComputer) house. Don't remember buying it, may have had it up to 4 years. Bottle code: F14-206. Poured into straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear, translucent reddish-mahogany color with just a thin cap of tan head that quickly dissipated. While this is a very attractive beer, it doesn't look like a Stout, but more like Strong Ale or Barleywine. Think North Coast Old Stock ale.
A bit of sweetness is at the front of the scent, with some malt and grain showing through. After that, hints of tobacco and leather were apparent. On the tongue the beer was the same, a bit malty sweet, and some earth and leather notes. The finish had a tangy tobacco aspect.
The body was thin, if you consider this a Stout, but right on for a Strong/Old ale. Smooth all across the tongue, with a semi dry finish. Overall, a very good brew, one that I will certainly grab again if I see it, and I think it's worth your time as well.
