I really like this place they have great burritos and other food. The lighting at night is a bit dark and smokey but is not unbearable. Have a good selection of beers on tap including some Stones and Rouge Deadguy, and a few locals. I would go back to this place but is seems like the Ghent locals always overwhelm the bar area. They have currently changed up the menu a bit if you go back the vegetarian items have changed a lot. TShe overall selection was not that big it they did have the token mexican beers and specials on those daily if that is your type of thing.

First off, I hate Mexican food. So I ordered French Fries (for almost $3!) and they were awful. Hence my low food rating. The atmosphere was cool, mostly college kids with a decent mix of families/older people - gets crowded in a hurry though. As for the beer selection, maybe I came on a bad night. They didn't really have anything except a couple of Lagunitas brands and products from the Legend brewery. They had a couple of nice items on the menu or on tap that they were OUT of (like a good-priced Stone Epic 070707). The manager apologized but still, that doesn't get me the beer. Other than that, you will be paying Ghent prices which means a pint will run you $5.

Hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in the Ghent area of Norfolk that happens to offer some nice beers on tap. Neat aquatic themed murals adorned the walls, lending a subdued, calming atmosphere.

Beers were OK, a bit stale. There enough beers on tap to satisfy me, but there wasn't an astounding selection. It was nice to see 3 Stone beers on tap, although a bit more local/ east coast stuff would have been more appropriate.

The servers didn't know the beer selection very well, but they were friendly enough and fairly quick.

The food is typical of American-Mexican restaurants. Not authentic, but still pretty good. The pork chimichanga was good.

Overall, an OK place to go for dinner with non beer drinking friends/family. Fairly expensive, expect to pay $4-5 for a pint.

New ownership the past couple of years so needed to update the review. Cantina-surf theme, juke box, occasional trivia nights. The beer selection is quite good, not over-the-top but very good, any beer geek should find something they like.... Stone, Allagash, Legend, 0' Connor are some of the breweries whose beers are usually on tap. The craft beer is generally American, and some macros from here/Europe.
Very casual hangout type place. Fresh fish of the day is popular choice, on platter or taco, you can get it blackened or grilled, lots of different fresh salsa preparations to choose from, veg options like build your own quesadilla. Sit at the bar, indoors, or on the patio. Service is casual but very friendly. Nice people.
Non-beer-drinkers will appreciate the strong margaritas. The outdoor patio is extremely popular in warm weather, but it can get smoky with the tables close together. A friendly locals place; you'll bump into college students, their professors, research scientists, and aspiring punk musicians. Location is very close to a cool independent movie theater (the Naro) and is ideal for before or after a movie.
