Copper-colored with a touch of haze, a small off-white head that soon fades to a paper-thin layer, slight carbonation. Aroma is rather odd, as was noted by another reviewer, like tart apples, not really an offensive smell, just rather out of place. Taste begins with a touch of carbonation, a bit of malt flavor, and an odd sort of fruity or cider-like flavor. As the beer warms a bit, the odd fruit aroma and taste largely disappear. The malt character of the beer is then able to assert itself, beginning with lightly toasted malt at the start of the taste, followed by coffee notes toward the finish. The finish is a bit dry. Mouth feel is decent, but too watery for the style.

Package reviewed was a 16-ounce custom brown glass twist-off. ABV is 5.2%.

Part of the "12 Greatest Brews of the World" sampler pack found at my local Wal-Mart. I really hope that a typical macro drinker does not use this package as their first foray into trying new beers, because these brews will surely send them screaming back to the comforts of BudMillerCoors. Pours a murky orange (again) color with a thin off-white head. Vague aroma of sour apples. Flavor is bitingly sour with a dry, slightly hoppy finish. I am hoping these beers are at least doing some good in cleaning our my drainpipes.
