A good location near Wickinden Street, it is a good place to pick up some beer for the byob restaurants along the street.

It is primarily a wine store that also as a decent selection of craft beer. The prices are reasonable and similar to other places in the area. I do not go here very often because their are better places to go for beer in my area, but if I am by Wickinden street I will stop by and see what they have.

The store is clean, and well organized. The staff are pleasant but do not seem to know much about beer.

Campus focuses on their wine selection which outshines the beer stock. However, they do have a variety of local brews, other micros from the US, and some imported as well. They stock 6 packs as well as bombers, all of which are kept refrigerated. This is not your store to try to find a whole selection of new beers to try, but if you're looking for a nicer beer that's easily accessible from the East Side, Campus would fit. I've found their prices for both wine and beer seem to be inflated, but you may be paying for the convenient access to the store from this area.

The service has been less than impressive in the past. Sometimes standoffish, sometimes cold, and never terribly helpful. While looking for wine one day, I found an employee trailing me around the store, but not offering to help.

Overall, a convenient and reasonably well stocked store. Worth stopping by if you don't have time to make it to better beer stores in the area.

Located pretty close to Wickenden pub so if you liked something that you had there you can probablly come and get a sixer down here.

The staff is generally pretty lame so dont really expect to talk to them about beer. but who knows, maybe thats changed by now. The beer selection is pretty good. Not too many other stores in the immediate area selling better beer than they do.

I managed to pick up my fisrt bottle of Utopias from as well. For its location its a good little shop. and if I know what I want when I walk in thats even better.

A decent place I used to live within walking distance to. They have a good selection of beers from NE, some of the bigger micros around the country, and an alright selection of foreign beers. Beer was always good, if sometimes a bit pricey. Service is spotty, sometimes they're friendly, other times they are standoffish. And they arent always very helpful, although I'm usually just browsing anyways and know what I need to know already. A good place to buy a decent six pack or bomber to enjoy at one of the local BYOB joints around on Wickenden.

I have given the staff of Campus so many tries to remedy the opinion of their store that i have formulated, but after my last trip there I finally snapped. They are jerks, plain and simple. I always say "Hi" to staffers, its just habit as I live in the area. This gesture has never been returned, not even a nod. All I get is that stare that says "Buy something NOW, and leave!" They also follow me around the store, as if i was going to steal something, which I'm not, and wouldn't considering there are always two bouncer-ish guys on either side of the door.

They also do not have bottle prices visible anywhere, I dislike that as it means I have to ask something of the mean and imperious cashier.

Campus is intimidating and aggressive feeling, and after a dozen times in there over the course of the past year or so, I will not be back.

If therte's ever been a place that needs a beer "guy", it's Campus Wine and Liquors. It's pretty clear from both conversations with staff and from its pricing that beer is an afterthought. Campus has a lot of potential though. It does some interesting Belgians and craft brewers. It carries more 750's than most stores of its size. The prices are all over the map, ranging from fantastic to very expensive. Campus tend to be pricey, but I've definitely found some gems here. It has a great location and a good space, and the people who work there have an obvious passion for wine. I just wish they had a a little passion about beer too.

The store is neat and compact, but the space is used quite efficiently. The coolers are tightly packed with several of the usual local craft brews and a nice array of imports. It was also nice to see a couple things that I don't normally find around here even in the stores that rate a 5 for selection. Service was friendly at the counter. Prices were a little steep, but I suppose normal for the immediate area. Nearly everything I saw the price on, I can get significantly cheaper. Overall, it's a good store and fills the craft brew need in the neighborhood, but unless I know there's something unique there, I wouldn't make a special trip.

Campus Wine is a small but adequately stocked beer store on the East Side of Providence. It's conveniently located near Wickenden Street with its fair number of BYOB restaurants (we ran over for a six recently while eating sushi at Sakura).

They have a variety of beer from the US and Belgium with some from England, Germany and others as well. The selection is not extensive by any means but you can certainly find some good ones. Some are refrigerated but most aren't. The service is good enough but not outstanding.

Campus Wine is good if you're looking to pick up some good beer but aren't looking for something very specific.

Shop is located a stone's throw away from Wickenden. Small store with a large wine selection and a small-modest craft brew section. Decent selection of belgians (4 Chimay & 4 Ommegang) and several Unibroue beers (5 or 6). Six pack selection was small, but a decent enough variety of different styles (Wolavers, DFH, Longtrail, Brooklyn, etc.); however, all are cooler stock. They also had Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner, which I haven't been able to find anywhere locally. The depth at Spiritus is far superior, but I thought that Campus was slightly less expensive. Staff were friendly and were receptive to special order requests. Also in their favor is that they have an incredible sake selection. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.

Located on the East Side of Providence just down the street from the Brown/RISD campus on Brook street. A decent little shop. And I do mean little. A respectable wine selection consumes more area than the beer coolers and shelf. About 7 cooler doors of a nice mix of import and export craft beers along with the stuff you'd expect to see down the street of a college campus. Also a cooler with the "big boys" sold by the single; Duvel, Chimay, DFH 120 min, Hobgoblin, Trappistes Rochefort, etc. They seem to consistantly carry the entire Unibroue line along with the staple Belgians, which is always nice. Tends to be a bit pricy in my opinion, but given its proximity to my place, it seems to be a solid go-to place. Then again, I always try to make the effort to drive to Nikki's Liquours across town...just because. I do appeciate the fact that Campus tries to pull in the seasonal offerings from NE breweries. As soon as the weather broke this season and Spring started to peek its head out, the Dogfish Head Aprihop, Longtrail Blackberry Wheat, and the Smuttynose Hanami Ale got a nice little display. Bottom line is that it's worth going to if you live on the East Side, but there's nothing that you can't find anywhere else.

I went here a month ago because I was told by a Brooklyn Beer rep that they sold Brooklyn Beer.

Great selection here, they had one bottle left of Newport Storm 05' left. 90% wine, 10% beer on the selection. Don't get me wrong good selection.

People knew what I was talking about when I asked them if they had the 4 beers I was looking for so I give them a 5. They didn't give me a look like huh? I will come here again, because they are near by me.

They carry Dogfish, Long Trail, Rogue, Broolyn. They have a wall of german beers too.

Campus Fine Wines lies a short walk from Spiritus Fermenti and Wickenden Pub, strategically about halfway in between. It is a not a large store, but not nearly as small as Spiritus, either. There is a nice selection on the whole...nothing too rare or crazy, but it definitely covers the basics and then some. There is ample selection of the locals and more than ample selection of imports. It is well-layed out and the people that work there are friendly if not overly knowledgeable. However, with Spiritus right down the street, there is not all that much of a reason to shop here, because Spiritus' selection is so much greater.

This is a decent place. Walking distance from Brown University, this place has a nice selection of Belgian beers, and a smaller, but still respectable collection of NE regionals. A few sixpacks of Dogfish Head, some Harpoon, and some SmuttyNose caught my eye in particular. They made my day when they told me that I could purchase single bottles from any six-pack. Reasonably priced, too. The staff knew a *bit* about the beer, but couldn't offer much in the way of detailed information. Still, worth hitting up if you're visiting town looking to stock up.

This is the other liquor store on the East Side of Providence. Not a large place, but in square feet bigger than the other. The selection here is pretty good, more emphisys on import beer than on local craft brewerys. I did not see any Paper City beers. I did find Westmalle @ 6.99 per 12 oz. the staff here seemed eager to provide me with any beers that I asked for. I feel possibly more sales driven than actual. I had a lenghty discussion about getting Stone Brewing and even tho any deals for distribution in the state may yet be in the far distant future, they assured me they would be one of only 3 liquor stores in the state to get it. I feel that this place may be even higher priced that the other. I don't feel that Haywards 5000 warrents $9.99 a sixer.

i don't highly recommend this store. it's small and the selection of beers is just mediocre. also the prices aren't posted so you have to ask the cashier. and the place gets busy with college kids, particulary on friday and saturday nights.
it is close to downtown providence, though and probably the best beer store on the east side of the city.
also, the prices were not horrible, but not great, either. sixers of tremont ale were in the $7-8 range, but i didn't see any kinds of specials or discounts posted.
