12oz found tonight at Brewforia Meridian on the way home from work. Pours with a fairly long lasting white head... hazed pale golden.

Very well balanced nose... great banana and clove mix.... light bready/grainy sweetness blooms the sweet clove aroma.

This is pretty super.. again a grainy maltiness shines without verging on sweet... well rounded with a lingering ester/phenol finish.

Body is light/medium with a good carbonation.... seems more full on the palate with warmth.

Very drinkable.... This is a nearly perfect hefe.

Pint from Growl Movement in S.Salem. $5. In appearance this is a very murky golden yellow with a small white head. Bubblegum, sweet over-ripe bananas, cherries and clove lovely lovely aromas. Taste is similar to the aroma( thank goodness) with a little more spicy clove. Luxuriant mouth feel..medium with low carbonation..great. Like many have said why oh why is this not the flagship instead of the lame version?

This is a real nice hefe...not a lot of quality ones brewed in the U.S but this qualifies. Better than Sierra Kellerwies and just a small notch down from Schell Hefe which is the standard in the US in my opinion.

Nice sweeter banana/vanilla notes on the aroma and taste....body is creamy...almost cream of wheatish....some light cloves on the aroma but the taste is all cream of wheat banana style...

I really like this beer. Body is perfect..medium...

Overall one of my favorite american made hefes...would buy a lot of this in 12 packs at a decent price...

Pours a cloudy golden, with a fine head of white suds. Big, loopy but nondescript lacing.

Aroma is lovely banana and clove spice, with a touch of citrus. Very nice!

Taste is rich and spicy, with a tangy sweet orange finish after the banana and clove . A delicious hefeweizen, and light enough that I could drink these all day.

Good tasting beer, got it in a 12 pack of different craft brews.

Smells like bananas, vanilla, and cloves.

Tastes like bananas but a bit heavy on cloves. Tastes sweet which isn't too much of my thing.

I've had this beer before in the same craft brew 12 pack so I know what to expect. Will I get it again? Yes.

Appearance: Cloudy gold with a big head of foam, decent lacing, and tons of carbonation.

Smell: Banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat.

Taste: Banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, smooth, and creamy, slight lingering banana-esque aftertaste.

The Verdict: Good beer. All that a good Bavarian Hefeweizen should be, and smoother than most. Well rounded, very drinkable.

Pours a bright golden tan with a characteristic foamy white head. The aroma is classic German Hefe notes of banana and clove. The flavors match the nose with slight biscuit notes from the malt along with creamy wheat. Overall, a very well done German Hefe from a brewery that defined the American version.

Appearance: Cloudy yellow, ok head.

Smell: Yeasty, clove, pretty mild.

Taste: Nice sweetness, mild banana flavor, hint of lemon. Smooth feel, slick.

Overall: A pretty solid hefeweizen, I enjoy banana flavors in hefes so was pleased with this one. Aroma is not too strong. Nice beer, good change-up in this cold winter.

Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Mug
From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $15.99 (w/ VONS card) for a variety Redhook/Kona/Widmer 12-pack
Purchased: Feb. 21, 2014
Consumed: Feb. 22, 2014
Misc.: Born on date of Dec. 12, 2013

Poured a golden greenish hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of creamy white head. Light sporadic spots of lacing along the sides of the glass. Below average retention.

Smelled banana, cloves, caramel, kiwi, grape, green apples, honey, wheat, grass and faint Circus Peanuts.

Tasted pretty close to the smell, which was a good thing. Got cloves, banana, caramel, green apples, kiwi, honey grass, wheat and light Circus Peanuts.

Light body. Oily-to-thin texture. Average carbonation. Long, crisp, refreshing finish.

Just a fantastic hefeweizen. I am actually pretty damn happy I bought this variety pack.

A - Hazy glowing yellow with a 2 finger head of white foam that doesn't stick around as long as I'd hoped.

S - Spiced wheat, lots of clove, some cardamom, yeasty esters, earthy bubblegum and band aids. Old banana, apple, and pear puree.

T - Pronounced banana and pear esters, sweet wheat malts, bubblegum, clove spice is still very forward, spice cookies, some grain underneath the fruit esters. Finishes sharp and semi-dry.

M - Heavy weight on the tongue, full and thick but slick, very low carbonation.

This is very yeast dominate. I wish there was more carbonation to cut through the fruit. Good flavors but it doesn't quite come together as a total package.
