Medium brown color. Medium head. Aroma is spicy and slightly sweet. A medium bodied brown ale. Malts are nutty and slightly sweet. Hops are spicy. The ginger adds a nice spicy counterpoint to the hop spiciness. An interesting brown ale. Nice going Widmer. Another odd and wonderful beer brought to the Oregon Brewers Fest (2003). Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and spicy.

This one is difficult to review, especially with all the suggestions being offered by friends: "Horrible, Ewww, Damn!, What the Hell?"

Its quite an attractive, deep mahogany, low clarity, and somewhat ruddy carbonation. Smells like gingerbread, and tastes like it too. Big, bold flavor overpowers all other sensations, but it quite interesting, if not good.

Regardless, its quite difficult to drink, and the suggestions of soy sauce coming from friends signal that its time for something else.
