Poured into a Pint Glass

Appearance - Nice Red Color with some mild carbonation. Head pours around 2 fingers with a brown tint and has decent acing

Smell - Caramel, Malts, Some Slight Figs, Chocolate and Barley. More Brown Ale than Winter Warmer in my opinion.

Taste - Piney Hops, Caramel Malts, Figs, and Chocolate. Fairly hoppy Winter Warmer and it tastes a little boozy. Decent Flavor overall.

Mouthfeel - Moderate Weighted Body and carbonation. For some reason, the moderate carbonation and body weight match the style quite well. With that said, this is more of a sipper than anything else.

Overall - A another decent Winter Warmer from Widmer Brothers, but I'd rather drink their
Barrel Aged Brrrbon, which is a better interpretation of a Winter Warmer (not to mention tastier)

Interesting amber. Clear, reddish-amber body with a thin, off-white head. Light lacing on the descent.

Smell: Crystal malts, some modest notes of toasted bread and grains with an additional hint of fruit and alcohol.

Taste: Amply sweet crystal maltiness with some toast, some graininess, and a hint of light-colored brown sugar. Moderate sweetness overall. Resiny hops, some pithy-accented citrus and fair degree of bitterness. Tiny flourish of berry. Long bittersweet finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight creaminess within. Coats the back of the throat.

Appearance: Think lacing on the rim. Bright red in color with excellent carbonation.

Smell: Biscuit, pear, and herbs. (Chamomile?) Excellent smell on this one.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Strong pine. Tastes like the Pacific Northwest. Extremely resiny mouthfeel. Rugged stuff for the rugged winter.

Overall Drinkability: Excellent, excellent beer. Definitely better than Widmer's hef.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, a good amount of hops, some spices and some fruit.

T: The taste starts out with a hearty malt character that is followed by mildly sweet flavors of caramel, nuts, spices and some fruit. Then a strong hops presence for the style comes in and provides a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer worth drinking for a while.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Not quite cold enough for me to make this noise, but it's getting close. This stuff pours a clear amber-copper topped by a half-finger of off-cream-white foam. The nose comprises apricot peel, light honeydew shell, sweet caramel, and a bit of pine resin. These elements don't really go together all that well, frankly, but the combination is interesting enough. The taste holds notes of pine resin, orange peel, light peach, dusty toffee, and a touch of toasted biscuit. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly dry finish. Overall, this ain't a bad hoppy winter warmer right here. I think the hop combination could've been honed a little better, but this stuff really ain't too bad.
