Pours a clear light brown color with a smallish off-white head that settled into a light ring around the glass.
The aroma is of light bourbon, nothing overpowering. There is a candied honey malt, some musty notes and a peppery spice.
The taste is of light bourbon, vanilla and diet coke with loads of saccharin. It has an out of place bitterness which is probably from the hops, but it is harsh. The brew has a caramel malt base with some candied honey, perhaps a touch of berry sweetness. The bourbon flavor and malt flavor are nice but the rest is kind of a mess.
The feel is light to moderate with prickly carbonation; finishes surprisingly clean perhaps a tad sticky. Finishes with a rough bitterness, like sticking your tongue on a 9 volt battery.
This is very meh. The bourbon is perfect for the malt and the malt is fine but the spice and the hops just don't work for me.

Muddy brown garnet color. Better head retention than most of the beers of this age. Spicy aroma, a bit sour too. Crisp, smooth feel. Since most of the primary flavors are probably faded, the bourbon shines through, gently. ABV well hidden. Quite drinkable.

The beer is from 2010.Poured into a pint glass at 47 degrees. A vigourous pour produced a light tan head that is foamy and billowy. The head has poor retention and just melt to a little foam island on the beer. The color of the beer is rich dark redwood color. The beer is opaque with some carbonation bubble.
N: A rich malty beer with spices, vanilla, fruit cake, yeast, biscuits, brown sugar, and caramel.
T: A mellow malt profiles, spices, vanilla, wood, coffee, biscuits, yeast, molasses, and caramel.
M: A thin and watery beer with some carbonation.
This is just okay, the beer is too thin for a winter water, I would expect a little bit of chewy and richer malt profile like the nose had. Disappointing.
